"Hey grandpa, why do you like to be with girls?"

The old, but at the same time funny and good-looking, man stared at his little grandson and then started to giggle. Romano secretly watched the scene. He wanted to know what his grandpa thought of women. It was a like a joke for him, he wanted to learn a way to make girls fall in love. Just to make fun of them.

"Ahahah, Feliciano... one day you will understand how much ragazze are important for a man. They can make you feel like a king, and at the same time they can kill you only with a look, if they want. Always remember: if you want a girl to love you, you have to make her feel the most important thing in this world. Girls can show you the most beautiful part of yourself, and make you give all your best. They're special, so don't you dare to treat them badly!"

Feliciano stared at him, open-mouthed. He always admired his grandfather: so powerful but, at the same time, so lovely and full of important lessons to gave to him and his brother. His handsome hugs, his warm laughter and his strength. The Northern really wanted to become like Romolo, like his greatest hero.

Romano thought about it for a few, and became suddenly angry.

"But I don't like ragazze! I don't like them!"

Grandpa Roma started watching him, with an expression full of love and understanding. He knew what he meant with that words. Romano and Feliciano grew up in his strong arms, Romolo were always with them in every single moment: when they fell he raised them up; when they lost he was there to incite them to become more good... and when they cried, he hugged them to make them stronger. Every single time. He knew them like his own life.

"Same thing for boys. It depends, of course."

Said Romolo, stroking his head with a big smile, like Feliciano's. Romano wanted more attention by his grandpa, and for him the fact that Romolo and Feliciano were really similar was annoying. He admired his grandpa too like his little brother, but much more. He was everything for him. A father, a best friend, a benchmark. And he was truly jealous of Feliciano.

"Now now- you have to go to scuola! Go!"

He said, laughing and giving them their schoolbags, with their lunch in it. They hated the school canteen, so Romolo always prepared them their lunch and their breakfast. "You have to eat properly!" the old Italian used to say.

"Ci vediamo dopo, nonno!"

Feliciano said, shaking his hand energetically. Romano did the same, but annoyed. He wasn't the happiest boy on the earth, but he surely loved his grandpa. Romolo knew that, but he never asked him to change his behavior. He loved his grandsons, the way they were.

Romano's p.o.v.

Me and my stupid brother just arrived at school. I hate school. I hate my classmates and my damn teachers! The only things that I like are the recreation time and... him...

He just arrived in front of me, behind his brothers. Like usual. I stared at him. Like usual.

"He will never see me..."

I thought. But that time, things changed. He turned around and looked at me and my brother. I felt like a billion of butterflies in my damn stomach. He had a pair of really, really beautiful eyes... I blushed, but he didn't seem to notice it.

It lasted just a pair of seconds, but it was amazing. I decided, when he turned around to keep walking with his brothers, that, one day, he would become mine.
