Dear Mum,

I guess first of all I have to apologize. Of course, I've told you about my project for school, but you have no idea you're in it. I swear - it's not because I have any bad intentions; I actually don't think you would believe that, but if you do, that is not true at all.

You are the first person I'm writing to because you make me smile every single day. Every second I spend with you.

I smile when I see those three letters "Mum" appear on the screen of my phone and I know you've sent me a message again. One of those messages that really support the cliché of parents being extremely unused to digital stuff, meaning it's got correct spelling, a random collection of emojis and way too many hugs and kisses. And that's exactly the way I like it. Thank you for every single one of those texts.

I smile when you wake me up in the morning because I've overslept once again and the first thing I see are your clover-green eyes, the first thing I hear your voice that always sounds as if you're laughing a tiny bit. And, I just have to say this, I love your patience with me even though I'm really bad at getting out of bed on time in the morning.

I smile when you hug me as if I were the best and most wonderful person in the world; one of your warm, soft bear hugs makes everything look and feel just right.

I smile all the time, because you're so full of love and you're the best mum anyone could ever have. I love you so much. To infinity and beyond.

You mean the world to me.

Lots of love,

Hazel
