LevyGajeel and I sat at the cafe for at least an hour, reminiscing about the guild and all the people in it.
"I saw Jet the other day."
"Oh yeah? Him and Droy still chasing after you?" Gajeel chuckled.
"No, actually! I was getting off the train and I was in a rush and I bumped into him. I even fell on my ass, it was so embarrassing." I giggled.
"Still a clutz, huh?" He forced out through his laughter.
I puffed out my cheeks and stuck my tongue out at him. I checked the time on the small watch I had bought while we were shopping. I stood up, pulling the handles of my bags off the floor. Without even asking, Gajeel's hand slipped under mine, taking the bulk of my shopping off me and carrying it himself. I looked up at him in awe, he's always so sweet to me. He caught me staring and winked, making me smile.
"Come on, we need to get to the library so I can translate this book for Yuki." I said, starting to head off.
Gajeel groaned behind me loudly. "Sounds boring."
"Yeah, it probably will be for you. You can always go do something else if you like, you don't have to be bored with me if you don't want to."
"Might take you up on that later, depending how it goes. Next job we just do something I wanna do." He smirked.
I rolled my eyes, dragging him towards the library. We stepped inside and I inhaled deeply, enjoying the smell of the books. It certainly smelt better than the library of that town we were in. The more I thought about it, I realised I didn't know anything about the town. I didn't even know what it was called. I walked up the counter and smiled at the woman behind it.
"Oh hello again you two. I assume you'll be looking for Yuki again?" She asked warmly.
"Oh yes, but first I'm just wondering if you know what the town is called around this area." I asked, pulling out a map and pointing where we had gotten the book from.
The woman leant down, staring at the map for a moment before a sad look crossed her face.
"I believe that used to be the city of Arknay, terrible tragedy what happened there. I can point you to some books about it if you're interested, dear." She smiled sadly.
"If you wouldn't mind, that would be great. Thank you." I nodded.
The woman scribbled some number and words on to a little piece of paper before handing it to me and pointing to a part of the library.
"They should be around that area, here's the index number on some of the books. Hopefully they're still here."
"Thank you very much, ma'am." I bowed slightly before walking towards the tome section.
"Why are you so interested in this town we were in, shrimp?" Gajeel asked.
"I'm not sure, it was just such a strange place, and I'm curious about it I guess." I shrugged. "Come on, let's find Yuki."
We weaved through the shelves and found Yuki sitting at the same desk as last time, books spread out around her. She was talking to someone with their back to us before we got there, their head covered with a hood. Yuki saw us coming and waved, quickly saying goodbye to the mystery figure. They stood up and hastily left in the other direction, disappearing out of sight. My eyes followed the figure. Strange.
