What They Found at Redwood Academy

Next was wind class. Not my power. Then plant class. Nope. Fire is my only power.

Mica found out that her power was water. I was happy for her, even though her power could easily dominate mine.

We head to animal class, which is the last class. Professor Jamison said that every one of us has a special power to at least one animal. She had set up six different habitats, each containing every animal that would be there. It was time to go to each one, and see if we attract any animals.

Mica went to the ocean habitat first, and dived in. When she came up, she was accompanied by a narwhal. I was really glad.

I decided to go to the rainforest habitat. No animal came. So, I went to the Canadian Forest habitat.

I heard a rustle in the bushes, and I was scared. A big brown bear jumped out, standing on its hind legs. He came towards me as if to attack, but he didn't. Instead, the bear took me into a hug and nuzzled me like a teddy bear. He was my animal. The brown bear.
