He responded lifelessly. I quickly glanced at him, then around the woods. "No way," he said, a little happier. "Do you.. LIKE like me?" His eyes brightened. "Well," I paused. "Yes." I smiled a little bit as the smile on Teddy's face grew enormous. I couldn't help but smile a huge smile, either. He was still crying, for god knows how many reasons. Jesus, this had to be the best day of my life. Teddy pulled me in for a sudden hug, which startled me. I hugged him, for what felt like forever, and I said to him, "You don't deserve this shitty life.. No one does." I felt his tears fall onto the back of my blue collared tank top. I hugged him tighter, hoping to calm him down. He sniffed and I sighed. "Hey, at least we've made it this far," I said to him while he cried. He nodded and let out a huge sigh. It felt like hours passed, but it was realistically only about five minutes.
