I sniffed the air as a cool ocean breeze flowed into the hut. After the incident with the man, I had decided that it would be best to lie low for a while. I looked around at the green palm trees and the yellow tinted sand. It wouldn't be that bad. I had enough food in the trees and leftovers from the market. I had some electricity from the solar panals. Which allowed me to have running water.

I looked out at the ocean, lost in my own thoughts when I heard the wood panels on the floor creak. I flicked my ears, but otherwise showed no response.

"H-hello?", A small voice asks.

I turn around quickly, only to stumble and fall into a child.

A child with soft, black, velvety ears, right on top of his head.
