The airship Miriam Antonio flew over the sprawling cityscape of New York. Skyscrapers reached up into the low lying clouds, fading in and out of view amongst the thick smog, sporting brightly lit billboards advertising everything from hair products to energy weapons. Teathered airships floated on the side of buildings. The Miriam Antonio turned sharply to avoid one of the airships that had accidently been decoupled from its moorings. In doing so the occupants were thrown violently across the decks, and glasses and plates fell off of automatic washing racks, shattering. Several S-1000 Servant Robots rushed over to clean up the mess, bowling over several of the still standing passengers aboard the Miriam Antonio.
On the ships bridge Tony Bragedia, captain and pilot, looked around the cabin. His flight engineer Michelle Bront and his navigator Micheal Costa had both been caught off guard, and were laying sprawled on the ground.
"What the bloody hell was that Tony?!" Michelle yelled.
"Some idiot let an airship loose from its moorings!" Tony yelled back over the sound of the engines propelling the airship through the sky. Clambering up and running towards the foward window, Micheal face turned from one of shock to terror.
"Captain, we have a big problem"
"What is it?"
"Pirates"
Directly off of the bow was a large dreadknought style airship with a giant skull and crossbones painted on the side. Someone threw a flag over the side of the airship, signalling Tony's craft to open up communications with the vessel.
