I woke up Monday morning at 5:30 Am to my alarm. My alarm of course was the sound of running water and birds chirping. First thing I do is yoga for 30 minutes. Yoga always clears my head and puts me in a good mood in the mornings. Then at 6 o'clock it's hair and makeup until 6:30 then it's breakfast and at 7 it's off to school. This is my everyday morning routine.
Arriving to school it was the same old schedule. 1st period French, 2nd period gym, 3rd period math, lunch, 4th period language arts, and last period Biology. My school had an A day B day system that splits classes into sperate days. School went by and I listened attentively and got all my work done on time as usual. My best friend Bailey is definitely not on the same side of learning as me but she still gets decent grades.
After school I needed to head over to the nearest Walmart to pick up some more coconut milk. While I was in the milk section I heard a familiar voice
"Can we get chocolate milk please?" I heard the familiar voice asking politely.
"No Jacob you have to sing in a few hours and milk will only clog your voice."
As soon as I heard the name Jacob the familiarly voice finally clicked in my head and I had a quick unbelievable guess on who it was. Could it really be him. I turned my head to the left of me and saw a tall brown haired bow standing with a tall woman. I recognized this boy almost instantly. It was Jacob Sartorius.
Jacob Sartorius. Internet famous good old cringe Jacob. I'm sure everyone who knows anything about social media knows this boy. Now I don't hate on anyone because my aura is way to big for that sort of thing but I wasn't a fan of him either. Naturally though I was excited because he's famous! So I decided to talk to him.
"Excuse me, are you Jacob Sartorius?" As soon as I asked the woman who was with him stood in front of him and told me "we're not taking pictures right now sorry."
I didn't get offended because I knew what kind of pressure he must be under so I simply smiled and nodded and turned to walk away but then Jacob called out.
"Wait don't go, my moms cranky right now. If you want a picture I'd be happy to take one with you!"
I turned back around to see him smiling and his mom scowling.
"Thank you Jacob. As long as it's okay with your mom and okay with you. I didn't talk to you for a picture either way but the more I think about it my friend would have wanted me to. Just as long as it's okay with both of you."
Jacob smiled and grabbed my wrist and pulled me over to him. He asked for my phone and I gave it to him and he handed it to his mom. Jacob slid his hand around my waist and put my arm around his back. I smiled and threw up the piece sign as his mom snapped the picture.
"Thank you Jacob. I'm sorry if I intruded on anything important." I politely said and turned to walk away. But once again Jacob called to me.
"Hey, what are you doing tonight?"
"Jacob!" I heard his mom shout at him.
"I'm not doing much. I was probably gonna go home and Cooke dinner and then plop myself on the couch after.
"How would you like to go back stage to a concert. My concert?"
"Rolf Jacob Sartorius! You can't go around and simply give fans free back stage tickets to your shows! We only have 40 minutes to spare and it takes 15 minutes to get to the concert!"
"Then we better get going huh mom. And I'm not giving her a free ticket I'm inviting her in with me."
His mom looked at him and then at me and shook her head.
"I don't want to intrude really it's fine." I said awkwardly
"You intrude? A pretty face could never do that."
I blushed. Did Jacob Sartorius really just call me pretty. I will admit he's handsome and all but I've never been a fan of him.
"Let's go silly." Jacob grabbed my wrist once again and drugged me out of the store and into the parking lot with his mom behind him where a black truck pulled up and Jacob got in the back.
This seemed sketchy. Isn't this how all horror films start.
I climbed in and sat next to Jacob and the car started to roll out. The car ride wasn't much talking it was more jamming to music. Jacob seemed to be getting hyped for his concert by playing cards B the entire way down. This wasn't typically the type of music I listened to but I could manage for Jacob he was excited and truthfully so was I"
We arrived at the concert and it was packed with screaming girls. Jacob looked over at me before getting out of the car,
"I never got your name."
"Evangeline. Evangeline Morgan."
He smiled and took my wrist once again as he dragged me through the back door of the huge stadium and through security.
"This is my dressing room" Jacob said pointing to a room with a gold star and the letters JS inside it. He opened the door and there was a leather couch against the right side of the wall and a big screen tv on the opposite side. In the left corner of the room there was a mini fridge and a microwave. In the back wall of the room there was a bathroom and a walk in closet.
"This is yours?" I asked practically in aw from everything there
"Yea, they sure do treat me well here haha."
I smiled and laughed as I looked around. All of the sudden I realized where I am and what I'm doing. I'm at a freaking famous persons concert and I didn't even have to pay. He just offered me to come along. Why me? I'm sure he wouldn't have done this with just a random person. Then I started thinking.
"Oh crap my dad!" I said aloud "He doesn't know where I am!"
"Call him, he'll be fine. I'll be back okay I gotta go do sound check. Don't go anywhere okay" He smiled and shut the door on the way out.
I pulled out my phone and looked up "pops💛" in my phone. I called and he answered fairly quickly.
"Hey Evangeline"
"Hey dad so I'm kinda in a situation." I explain to him.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
"No I'm fine but.." I didn't know how to explain it "There's this famous boy and his name is Jacob Sartorius and well.."
"What, what is it?!?!" He started to sound worried.
"I saw him at the grocery store and next thing I know he's offering me a free backstage pass and now I'm here at the concert."
"Honey why'd you make it sound worse then it was. I was worried something had happened to you." My dad said letting out many breathes.
"It's just a stranger story that's why. It's weird for me to say it out loud." I explained to him.
"It's okay. Just get home safe and remember your phone don't lose it." He said with concern
"Alright dad, I love you." And with that I hung up the phone. I started to brush my hand against the furniture and took in a deep breath. His room smelled like freshly mowed grass and new parchment. I loved the smell of his room.
"Hey!" I heard Jacob yell as he enters the room. I looked up and smiled at him.
"So sounds good and the show stats in 10 but they're opening the doors now." He explained to me
"Jacob I've never been to a concert before so I don't know if I'll act weird." I said looking at the floor and smiling.
"Just be yourself Eva. Mind if I call you that?" I looked up at him and I smiled. My mother hated that. My dad would try and call me Eva or Angeline in short of Evangeline but my mother hated it. She named me Evangeline and it was going to stay that way in her mind.
"Actually, my mother hates that. She thinks it's annoying shortening my name." I explained to him still smiling.
"Oh well maybe she could make an exception for someone like me?" Jacob said with a twinkle in his eye.
"She's passed. I've never done anything that could possibly hurt her. I know she'd want me to be called Evangeline." My smile started to fade and I was trying not to get sad. I'm always so positive.
"I'm so sorry for you loss. If it makes you comfortable I can just call you Evangeline." He said but his smile was gone
I looked up and started laughing and smiling. "Don't even worry Jacob it's really okay. I mean yea she's gone but her memory still lives on inside me. Really I'm as happy as I could ever be!"
Jacob looked astonished. He looked at me as though he were trying to read me. Like a book. Suddenly a tall man walked and it broke Jacobs gaze.
"There's 5 minutes Jacob it's time to get a move on let's go." The tall man said to Jacob. Jacob then looked back at me.
"You ready?"
I smiled and looked at him wondering. Was I ready?
