Chapter Two: Sinner or Saint

"Andrew!" a voice from behind called him. He turned around to check who it was. His brows raised. It was his Chinese friend, Lin Xiao. Andrew suddenly felt uncomfortable with the presence of his friend. It's just, he doesn't like it. Well, thanks to Lin Xiao's act in making him to go 'crazy out' with a woman he barely knows during the party. Thankfully, he left his friend's house before he could tease him to do something he don't want to do.

"Oh, Lin," Andrew muttered. He don't want to talk to him.

It seems Lin Xiao read him. Andrew knew that his face is like a book. His thoughts and feelings could be determine through just staring at his pretty looking face, as his granny, Elsa, said.

"See, Andrew, I'm sorry if I wanted you to go out with Persia last time," Lin Xiao apologized, his tone sincere, for Andrew.

Andrew knew Lin Xiao since High School. He knew all its weak spots and dislikes, and all things that a stalker would know. Andrew narrowed his eyes when he revisited the statement of his friend.

"Persia?" Andrew repeated, making sure.

"Yeah, that slutty woman I was trying you to hook-up on during my party," Lin Xiao described.

Andrew raised his eyebrow again, "Slutty?" It's kinda weird for Andrew to hear from Lin Xiao the word 'slutty' since on what he knows, Lin Xiao believes that all women who are sluts are not sluts. Even Andrew can't understand that part. He knew that his friend is weird, but he just realize that he hangs out to a really weird person.

"It's kind a new to hear from you the word slut," Andrew grinned, "What happened? I thought sluts are not sluts."

"I changed my mind," Lin Xiao replied, "I realized that when I start to hang out with women more, our friendship starts to rip apart. I don't want to risk my friendship for those women."

"What a thought!" Andrew throw his left arm in Lin Xiao's shoulder, "Come on my friend, Granny said she would baked some cookies today and said to bring you with me."

Kelp open his eyes. The white blinding light from the lightbulb above made him to close his eyes for a moment. As he open his eyes again, he looked at his side. He saw a desk with a flower in a vase on it. It's kinda refreshing, he thought. Then he just realize, a long transparent tube is attached in his left hand. He was surprised for a bit, but again, he realized he was inside the hospital. Suddenly, the door of his room swing open. A young woman enter the room with a bunch of roses embraced by her arms. The young woman was delighted to see him awake and immediately move next to his bed.

"My brother, are you okay? Are you hungry? Do you need the doctor?" the young woman continuously asked as she placed the roses in the desk.

Kelp chuckled. As he expected, his sister, Divine, didn't change since the last time he saw her, thee months ago. With his aching right hand, he patted his sister's blonde hair. Divine could only stare at her brother. Her eyes started to be flooded with tears, but she was able to hold it on. She smiled at him.

"I'm fine, Divvy," his face suddenly change, "How are the others? The mongolian children? The villagers? The other missionaries?" his voice is full of worry.

Kelp tried to stand up from his bed, however his body won't allow him. His whole body, except his arms, seems paralyzed. Divine noticed that her brother is trying to move and her protectiveness started to appear.
