jaemin now couldn't stop himself from breaking down into tears. this was the moment he would let it all out, let his emotions and heart run free, the words that haunt him and crowd his brain. He let his tears stain the carpet below him, he couldn't hold anything in anymore.

jaemin's pov.

"jaemin please don't cry..."

"you don't know how I feel! I did this to him!"

I broke my love, I hurt him. I'm the reason he lies unconscious, the reason he lay lifeless strapped to wires, the beeping being the only thing that fills the room. He could have died because of me, one of the brightest lights in the sky dying out because I was selfish, I forced him to be here, I forced him into this position of pain, this feeling of being hurt all the time. How could I be so blind to see that he loved me? why couldn't I see past the sleepovers and house visits, to find love, happiness, home. He was always there for me when I was hurt, he was someone there for me to hold when my tears fell, but this could be the reason I could never hold him with me ever again.

I left the hospital for a bit to go to the place I last spent with him alone. The bridge by the river. This is where I realised that I loved him, I let my hands feel against the cold metal railing and feel the cold breeze brush against every area of my face. I loved him. I laid against the edge of the metal for what felt like hours. it was almost as if I could see the sun peeking up from behind.

maybe it was time for me to let go. I sit across the edge of the railing and let the cold air fill me up. It was my time. No one would remember me anyways.

I began to let myself fall forward.

I laid there for a bit, watching the waves move by above me. I let my eyes flutter close a bit, I was finally where I need to be. before I had met jeno, I wasn't happy. I hated my life and everything I had. when I first met him he made me better. when he joined the club with me, we acted together in a midsummer nights dream. we ran out of female characters so he had to play helena, hah, he looked so cute in that wig, and the time when we went for ice cream at the fair and I dropped mine so he bought me another one twice a big, with rainbow toppings and my favourite sour straps. I had so many good memories with me. what was the point if he didn't even remember me.

I can feel my lungs feel heavy and my stomach twisting. my head hurt and my eyes close. this was my final end.

"breaking news! a young boy by the name Lee Jeno jumped into a river and saved a drowning kid named na jaemin. it's an amazing story. apparently he had just come out of hospital." "wow."

as sirens whirred in the background and news channel trucks jumped in the background, there lay na jaemin lying on a stretcher being carried to an ambulance. the boy was awake, though he couldn't process what was happening. all he could see was jeno wrapped in a blanket, hair wet and news camera surrounding him. he focused his eyes back up to sky. it was now day, and he saw countless amounts of ambulance works strapping him up to different machines and checking all his vitals.

"na jaemin, can you see me? can you hear me?"

"w-"

"hold on, he's waking up. alright strap him into the ambulance. we need to get him to emergency to check for any complications. pull him in and get a mask on him, we don't know if he's breathing."

"sir, what's your name, can you respond to me"

"jaemin! jaemin! oh my god jaemin!"

"sir, please step back this is a police only area we need you to get back."

"that's my friend in there you have to let me in!"

jaemin looked over and saw renjun standing at the police line, trying to get in. the last thing he remembered was being strapped into an ambulance and being taken away.

"lee jeno, central news who is this boy and why did you jump in to save him!

"well I had just finished my surgery I'm not sure what for, but my best friend was rushing around saying he was looking for someone named jaemin? he seemed familiar. but when I heard that someone spotted him on the bridge something snapped and I had this urge to go and find him. I saw him jump in and I didn't know what to do. I still have my hospital clothes on. so I just jumped and pulled him out."

"amazing story, jeno, please smile for the camera!"

jaemin closed his eyes, and let himself be carried into the ambulance as jeno watched him from afar.
