Chapter 12

me and luke had to go out the room so the doctors could sort logan out. i was so scared. luke just hugged me, i felt a drop of water hit my hair. he was crying. i looked up at him and he tried to stop himself so i started as well.

Lauren: hes going to be alright isnt he

Luke: of course he is babe.

we looked into the room and they all started slowing down, i saw the doctor look at the clock, i knew something wasnt right. the nurses started turning off machines and thats when i knew for sure something terrible had happened. a nurse came out.

Nurse: im so sorry

i had known my little boy for 5 days and he was already gone. i broke down in lukes arms and he started to cry again. they let us back in the room so we could see our gorgeous boy one more time.

i looked at his face, i kissed his cheek, i held his hand and prayed he would come back, but i knew he wouldnt. luke held his other hand and we had those precious few minutes with him that i knew we wouldnt have again.

i still hadnt been discharged so luke went home and told everyone.

everyone came to see me to see how i was doing but i needed space.
