Camila is coming over after school. It has been about a week since Camila took herself under my wing. She still refuses to get any tattoos, but she did get a nose ring so I can't complain too much. She is pretty nice, and I enjoy her company.
She also does this thing with her nose where whenever she is nervous she will scrunch it up and shudder. She just makes me happy when the rest of the world rather shut me out. And with that, our friendship blossomed.
"Do you want some pizza?" I ask when Cam gets here. She nods, and I pull my boots over my feet.
"Well, let's go, we have a long walk," I smile at her. She pulls my sweatshirt over her head and shudders softly as the wind embraces her frame.
"It's cold," she comments and I smile. My arms are cold, but I rather freeze than her.
"Tony will be meeting up with us," I tell her and she smiles.
"He's the one with the stay weird beanie right?" I nod.
"I will get that beanie one day, I swear it." I nudge her arm with mine, causing her to smile even more.
Halfway to the pizza shop, Camila stops. The wind has made her tan complexion a pink color, causing her to look uncomfortable. I grab her arm and embrace her as we walk down the street. The weather is in the mid-40s and Cam's body can't keep heat. Something is off about her, but I know if I push she will pull away, and right now I enjoy her company. It may be a little too much, but I can't help it.
Once we arrive, Tony hands me the change and I throw it into Camila's purse. She smiles at me and I grab Tony's arm.
"Remember to order a small. Camz doesn't eat a lot." He nods and walks out of the booth. He walks to the counter and orders Camila her pizza.
"I'm sorry, Lolo, that I don't eat a lot. I just, can't keep it down." She frowns and I squeeze her hand.
"Everything will be okay, Camila. We don't judge you." She smiles and rubs my hand. Tony walks over with two pizzas in tow and I smile at him. Her brown eyes widen at the food but then fall when she realizes something.
"Cam, I'm worried about you." I whisper to her. She shudders at me and nods.
"I know, I'm sorry Lolo." She tries to eat something for me and I'm grateful for that. Maybe taking her into my care won't be so bad. Maybe, just maybe, I will enjoy some new friends for once.
The weather has turned south the past three weeks and Camila hasn't been feeling the best. Her stomach is refusing to hold down any food, and she seems less interested in hanging out with me. I'm in need of her always by my side, but for the time being, I'm letting her have space. She deserves at least that. She constantly proves that she's my friend, day in and day out. Maybe it's my time to do the same.
"Tony! I need your help!" I shout at him over the loud class. English always is super loud, but it's the only time I can see Tony.
"What's up black widow?"
"What the fuck do you mean, Tony?" I question him. He shrugs and I decide to ignore his comment. "Anyway, I need you to take me to Camila's house after school." He nods.
"Do you have gas money?" I shake my head.
"I will by next week. I need to get Camila something." I frown at Tony. He nods and proceeds to ignore the teacher.
"What are you getting her? A thong? That would be so hot!" he gushes a little too loudly. Everyone who was around him gave me a weird look.
"No, imma get her some Sprite and magazines!" I punch his arm and laugh. Tony griminces and flips me off.
"Meet me at my car at 2:45 no later or I will leave you!" I smile and give him a hug.
The rest of the day was boring. I made it to Tony's car by 2:40 and had to wait on him. He rushed over and quickly forces me in, closing my door softly.
"Walmart we go!" he speeds slightly, but I don't mind when Camila is sick. The ten minute drive is agonizing, being further from Camz is killing me. Tony pulls in and we walk inside. I head over to the electronics and pick up The Book Thief and grab some M&Ms. Tony heads to the magazines to pick up something interesting while I head to the book section and attempt to find her The Great Gatsby I'm pissed I didn't keep my copy because looking is so hard. After twenty minutes I give up and head to check out.
