Chapter 4: black

"Hey, sorry I'm busy at the moment probably with work. Uh Please leave a message"

"Hey dad, just calling to check in on you, how are things. How are you and mom? I saw you left some miss calls the other day, I'm so sorry I haven't been able to text lately," a gentle laugh escapes her lips using it as a mask to give her time to think of something to say, "you know how things are with catching up with studies and the jet lag still messing with me. Well, I will call later, maybe I will even catch you. I love you, and mom! Don't forget that. Byyye." (E/c) eyes stare at the big red 'End message' sign on screen, a quick tap on it sends off the voice recoding. Sighing, she kicks the dirty sand under her, creating a small dust cloud to float up, a light layer of dirt coats her shoes. Homesickness is never a feeling people enjoy, and at this moment neither did (Y/n). It's not America that she misses. But rather the two known as her parents, they had to stay behind in America.

They are just busy at the moment, I will try again later.

The bag full of books hanging from my back is not a pleasant experience. But I can deal with it. My pale hand whacks the side of my school skirt to get rid of the dirt, letting it merge with the air before I take a step into the school building. I still haven't gotten used to the routine of changing school shoes and heading to class, but it will take a few days to fix into my life. Fixing up the loose earphones by tying them up around my phone, I give one last peek at the time before the screen gets masked with wire. Making a mental note, I decide it's time to probably head to class before I'm late.

Just as the bell goes I step through the door, thanking the lord my teacher hasn't arrived just yet. So I won't be marked late. I head towards my usual seat by the window right in front of the distracted boy, he takes one glance at me and I already know he's annoyed. I can see it glowing in his fierce eyes, like venom leaking from a snake's jaw.

A few minutes pass, yet they seem longer than you would expect, since the feeling of Bakugo's eyes are carving on my back. My cold fingers rub on my forehead gently to rub away the small headache that disturbs me. Mr. Aizawa walks up to his desk, his eye bags seeming to grow a little more every time you see him, even when I see him in the hallways.
Must be hard being a teacher of this class.
I can't help but smile, letting my eyes wonder over the happy faces of my classmates.

"Alright, settle down you lot," his hands reach out grabbing his list of names,"today we will be working on partnership combos. For the ones who haven't been studying," his eyes glance over to Denki," that means when two heros use their quirks in a systematic and well thought out way, make a perfect combination with each other. That way the single powerful attack will give a bigger impact towards the villain. A combo attack." He goes on to talk about how we will be all assisted randomly to partners, since in real life you can't really pick who you fight with.

Everyone cheers beaming with excitement and nervous, probably thinking about who will they have the pleasure of being partners with.

"Bakugo. (L/n). Since you both had similar results in the physical exam, which of course you did later (L/n), the principal has decided to partner you two together to see what you could come up with." I feel a great pressure press against my  shoulders as I absorb the information. My mind taking some time to realize what this means. A small, throbbing pressure builds up in my throat as I try my hardest to swallow it down. My eyes glance over slightly to look at the others reaction, everyone seem...relieved?

I guess no one really wants to be with the person who snaps a lot.

I close my eyes for a moment, letting the world turn black, taking a few deep breaths to relax. This is going to be ok, I'm are going to be okay. Of course I know this isn't going to be easy, but at least it's something.
