We did end up meeting again. However it wasn't until two weeks later.
I was on my way to a coffee shop. It was just down the street from my apartment. It was a small hole in the wall that was hard to spot unless you knew what you were looking for.
I knew exactly what to look for as I had been there many times myself after discovering it with my roommate hoseok one day while trying to escape the rain. There were flowers on every table and a smell of vanilla I had grown to love.
I knew exactly what to expect when I walked in however I didn't expect you.
You were sitting at a table by yourself typing away on a laptop while occasionally pausing to sip on your drink. It was an americano I think. I don't exactly remember though, it's been too long.
You didn't notice me when I walked in. You didn't notice me when I walked up to the counter to order my drink. You didn't notice me while I was staring at you waiting for my drink. You didn't notice when I got my drink and headed over to your table. You still didn't notice me when I sat down in front of you. You didn't notice me until I reached out a tilted your computer screen down slightly, and you looked up.
Only then did you notice me.
You smiled.
I smiled back.
No one said anything for a while, but we didn't need to. We were wordlessly communicating through our gazes towards each other.
Does this mean I can get your number now? You asked me referring to our first meeting. I nodded and you handed me your phone.
I saved my number under the contact name cutie. You laughed when I handed you your phone back.
After I while we bid goodbye and I walked out feeling a little lighter then when I came in.
