Prototypes

Since the Makers didn't have the fuel yet, they decided to test the emotions on prototype robots, that they built from the parts of the ship, while being connected to the ship's fuel supply. They tested and improved countless formulas for days, weeks even. A lot of them being fails. Many of the prototypes acted exactly like normal robots (or how the Makers put it, "...just like Computer"), they ended up destroying them with straight faces. Others were almost working but ended up getting multiple system failures or exploding from all the strain. One of them actually fell apart the second after they switched it on after they decided to try and make the exoskeleton smaller. All the prototypes were their size, though a bit bigger to resemble adults.

Days have passed and still nothing. The Makers still tried to concentrate their emotions into one sort of "spark" for the bot. Of course, it was hard. At least they stopped trying to concentrate so hard when they remembered, "Hey, Computer! Show all footage of all emotions we showed on the ship."
They were constantly keeping surveillance around the ship (all facepalm. "We only remember now?" Galactia asked).

Though concentrating emotions was easier, the "spark" they tried to make was no where near successful.

"Think guys, what are we not getting?" Galactron asked almost desperately.

"We are concentrating all emotions together and colliding them together," Galactia started.

"But all still end up either accidentally exploding or were made to explode," Galactus ended. "What are we not doing right?"

"Umm, guys? Maybe it's time we consider how organic life is born?" Galactica suggested.

"NO!!!" The rest of them yelled.

"No, I mean think about it, before the egg is fertilised..." Galactica started explaining.

"Two people of opposite gender comes together and do whatever! Yes, we know! But why are we..." Galactron stopped. "Oooh! I get it."

"Two people come together, but two people only come together when they have deep affection for one another," Galactia realised.

"Yes! When two people are together and a child is made, all the emotions aren't present, just one is," Galactus said.

"The strongest emotion of all."

"One that separates us from machines."

"One that robots will never feel or even understand."

"The one emotion which is love."

They all gave a cheer of success, then they face palmed. How did they not think of this? It was pretty obvious.

They tried again, this time they made a small device float between them. All four of them came together and held hands. They made a circle and closed their eyes, thinking of the things and people they loved the most. That being their parents, Aquaria their mother and Vectus their father, and their planet they called Home. For a while they concentrated on that, smiling, crying and laughing at the same time. Then the device that floated in the middle of them began sparking. After a few sparks of light, it burst into a rather large orb like blue thing. The four of them opened their eyes and gave whoops of excitement. Without wasting time, they put the Spark, that is what they decided to call it, into the next prototype. They waited, crossing their fingers, for something to happen. After a minute or two, the prototype began to stir. It opened it's eyes and looked at them. The Makers looked at it with great interest. Then it spoke, "H-h-hello. What... Where am I? Who are you?" The Makers let out sighs of relief.

"Hello, don't worry. We're... Your Makers," They replied. "You are in our ship. Do you know what you are?"

"I don't know, I don't even know if I have a name."
