That's when it happened.

Nico fell forward as everything rushed through his mind. All of a sudden, he remembered everything. Thats when he realized that, while he was 14 inside, he was back in his 6 year old body.

AT THE COUNCIL OF THE GODS: LEO'S POV

I was rather enjoying myself. Seeing the look on Percy's face when he saw I'm still alive, coming here and finding a plethora of girls entertained. This issss the life. Nothin like the most epic  prank to EVER be pulled on countless of people, and girls surroundin' me on every side. We sat around the a table everyone glaring at each other like they're all engaged in a staring contest with everyone at the same time. It was rather boring to be fair. I started twiddling with the various pieces of medal i had found in my pockets.  I heard something about Nico being missing and the gods needing to mind their own business, all of which I nodded my head to. I watch as the small machine starts to take the form of an animal. One small head, one body and...

"uh oh" Leo tried to pull it apart but too late, the eighth leg was attacked and Leo watched horrified as the mechanic spider jumped out of his had and crawled straight for the enemy of all spiders...Athena.

"I think we need to go....NOW." Leo jumped out of his seat and speed walked out of there, caring whether or not the others followed. Luckily they did. As the elevator door were closing, they heard Athena scream.

"Well, they were no help." Will grumbled an kicked the elevator wall.

"Did you honestly expect them too?"

I looked towards Percy as he spoke, taking notice of his arm around  Annabeth. I felt a pang in my heart as I remembered the caramel haired girl with dark eyes. I could practically see her, waiting on the edge of the island, losing her hope of me returning for her.

"You okay man?" Jason wrapped one arm around my shoulders, reminding me of all the times before my "death" that he had shown this brotherly act.

"Bout as good as can be expected! I mean, I did just return from the dead and all!" I smiled, trying not to show how much I hurt inside. After all, Humor is the best way to hide the pain. My joke earned a small chuckle or smile from everyone, but I saw a look in Percy's eyes as he glanced my way, making him wonder if he knew what was going on.

"Yeah, now we just gotta get Nico back, before he is dead." Will, the usual sunshine boy, brought the somber, dark mood back.

"You must admit, that would be just a tad ironic don't you think? The prince of the dead, dying."

"LEO!!"

I jumped into a corner of the elevator as far from Annabeth as possible. We rode the rest of the ride in silence. The silence as we drove back to Percy's mom's house was as silent as the grave.

NICO POV:

The headache just wouldn't go away. It was like his brain had split in two. One side was fighting that he was trapped in his 4 year old body, while the other claimed he was only 4 and therefore should be acting as such. He was constantly slipping between a 4 year olds state of mind and a 14's.

"You ready Nico? These pancakes aren't gonna cook themselves!" Bianca pulled a wobbly wooden  chair over the dirty concrete floor in front of the small stove they had. Nico, with some struggle, crawled onto it, grateful to be standing next to his sister again.  He sat there staring at her for a moment, trying to engrave her smile into his mind. He knew that in 6, well, 76, years she would die trying to get him a mythomagic action figure and defending Percy. He watched intently as Bianca handed him a small wooden bowl filled with flour, a small pile of water in the middle starting to absorb.

"It seems we don't have everything for pancakes, but maybe this will work." Bianca shrugged as she handed him a spoon. He started to try to stir, but just flipped the flour everywhere, Bianca gently  helped him stir in slow, circular motions.

"Morning! Oh! Are you guys making breakfast?"

Nico turned to find his mother standing there, nearly on the verge of tears from her young children's sweetness, despite there being flour all over them. Nico tried to get down to run to her, feeling overwhelmed at seeing his mother again, but instead he just ended up falling off the chair onto the floor. He couldn't help it. It hurt so much, he started to cry. It wasn't just from the fall. The pain of losing his friends, nay his family from his future self, the pain of seeing his mother and sister alive again after being separated form them for so long, the anger at Hera, everything came out with sobs. He felt his mother scoop him up in her arms. He wrapped his small arms around her necks and sobbed into her shoulder, taking in her smell of peppermint and lavender. He felt Bianca wrap into the hug, slightly squishing him in-between them. After a time that wasn't long enough, they pulled away to finish making breakfast. Nico knew there wasn't much time before he would lose them both again, and as soon as he got to New York, he was gonna pay the gods a visit.
