Before I start the story I would like to say that it's based off the song Him and I by Halsey (the song at the top). I recommend you listen to it because it's such a great song. Anyway on with the book.
--------------------
My eyes flutter open as I begin to wake up with warm feeling of the sun hitting my face. I get up closing the curtain and make my way to the bathroom making my way through my room walking around the piles of clothes and random things scattered across my floor. I really need to clean up. I think to my self as I open the door to the bathroom. I turn on the shower making and wash up. After i'm finished I get out the shower turning the water on and begin to dry off. I step in front of the mirror taking a look at the reflection staring back. A Caucasian female with shoulder length blonde hair and green eyes, her name? Valerie Montgomery. After staring at my self for a little while longer I turn towards the door leaving the bathroom to get dressed.
I make my way downstairs where my Mom, Dad, and little brother are all in their glory which according to me isn't much. I think of my family as fake seeing as my mom and dad are always arguing yet is shown as the perfect couple in front of business partners and the cameras while my poor brother is caught in the middle of it. While i'm thinking about my very toxic family a voice interrupts my thoughts.
"Valerie what are wearing?!" I look towards my mother who is wearing a very expensive dress along with some jewelry dad bought her when they were still in love.
"If you must know mom i'm wearing a white t-shirt with some jeans along with my black choker and leather jacket, you know your very basic lesbian attire" I reply in a very snobby accent which causes my brother to laugh. She looks at him then back at me with a look that's combined with anger and disgust.
"Go and change right now! No daughter of mine will go out in public dressed like that." before I can reply my dad speaks up.
"Dear leave her be if she wants to wear a t-shirt and jeans let her wear a t-shirt and jeans" I look at my dad who gives me a comforting smile as I give one back. My dad always had my back and was the only one besides my brother who accepted me when I came out to my family. My mother on the other hand not so much....
"But it's improper especially for someone of our status" I roll my eyes as I grab a piece of toast and my school bag.
"That is my cue to leave" I say as I walk out the door but not before I ruffle my brother's hair who giggles at the gesture. I can hear my mom yelling at my dad as I close the door. I sigh as I continue walking admiring the scenery. The only good thing about being rich was that you got to live in beautiful places which meant I get to take beautiful pictures. I continue walking as I hear a familiar voice call out to me.
"Yo Val" I turn to be greeted with a smile from my best friend.
"Hey Crystal" I reply as I give her a smile back. She gives me a hug and we continue our adventure to school.
"Alright so how was you're morning" I look at her giving her a look of you can't be serious as I reply.
"You know the usual my mom giving a speech about how being me is wrong, my dad sticks up for me and then gets yelled at by my mom all in front of my brother by the way. How about you?" I look towards her waiting for her to answer.
"I'm good the shelter i'm at isn't that bad the food on the other hand is a different story." We both giggle at her comment.
"Any contact from your parents?" I ask seriousness feeling my voice but her look says it all.
"You know the answer to that" she says now looking at the ground. Her pmand her parents always had fights where they kicked her out but it always ended with them letting her come back and apologizing but this one was different. It started off as their normal argument but quickly escalated into something more which was made worse when Crystal came out as bi to them. As you would expect from her parents they ended up kicking her out but for good this time. At least thats what it seemed like. I offered for her to stay at my house but she didn't want to bother my parents. I'm about to speak when i'm interrupted with someone bumping into to me making me fall and drop my bag as the contents inside spilled on the ground.
"Shit watch where you're going" I hear Crystal say as I winced at the pain.
"Oh my god i'm so sorry" I hear the other person say. I look up to be greeted with what I thought was an angel. The girl has long black hair and pale skin, she has gold eyes that to me at lest are mesmerizing. Crystal helps me back up as the girl bends down and begins to pick up my stuff. After a while of just looking at her admiring her beauty I too bend down and begin to pick up my stuff much to Crystal's dismay as she protests by shooting my a look but I just ignore her. After we get all my things the girl puts them in my bag and hands it to me. I take it and after securing it on my arm she extends her arm as she speaks.
"I'm Meli" she says as I take her hand and shake it.
"Valerie, but my friends call me Val."
"I hope I get that privilege someday." She says smiling as Crystal scoffs but once again I ignore her as all my attention is focused on the girl in front of me.
"Maybe you will" I say in a rather seductive voice. She goes to say something else but is interrupted by the bell. Crystal begins to pull me towards the school.
"I hope this isn't the last time we see each other" I hear Meli yell seeing as me and Crystal where half way across the court yard. I managed to reply as Crystal pulled me towards the school harder.
"Trust me it isn't" I say before Crystal manages to pill me inside. I look at my friend who looks agitated to say the least.
"Geeze with you pulling me like that I could've sworn you were trying to rip my arm off." I say jokingly still looking at Crystal who seemed to just get even more mad.
"Whatever lets just go" she says with venom in her voice. But I just shrug it off as I walk to class. I enter the classroom and take my seat which is obviously next to Crystal's. The teacher comes in and everyone becomes quiet listening to what he had to say.
"Okay listen up class we have a new student today." I perk my head up along with the rest of the class. "I want you all to be nice to her and help show her around." All the boys get excited at the fact that it was a her. The teacher shushes them as he motions for the girl to come in. I look back down not really interested in who this new person was but that changes when I hear the name of the person. Meli I look up to see the girl I bumped into this morning. Her eyes move across the classroom eventually making its way to me. She smiles and waves which catches me off guard but I wave back getting the attention of the teacher along with the class.
"Well since you two know each other how about you take a seat next to Valerie. She'll also be the one to show you around." Meli smiles at the teacher and begin to make her way towards the empty seat next to me. She sits down and the teacher begin to start the class.
"looks like that thing you said about this morning not being the last time we see each other was true." She whispers to me.
"Looks like it was." I whisper back smiling.
