I'm sorry to say the original author has sadly abandoned her work (not naihzama) and I (Naihzama) am picking up the pieces to continue it on.... because well I hate not finishing things that were started. So this is written by me with the author's original notes. She reads it after I write the rough draft; comments, alters, etc. sends it back to me who edits etc. back to her and after what's going on a week. We have the first chapter together! So enjoy and if it sucks...... well...... a few months of waiting wouldn't be that bad right hahahaha.

A heavenly smell woke Amara from her restless sleep. A pop of a stone brought her attention to the small fire below her. The smoke that drifted up to Amara carried the sweet smell of food. Her mouth watered with anticipation and her stomach moved with the need. Even her child inside her seemed to desire a piece of it.
"What is that," Amara called down. She couldn't take her bodies' demands. T'ranthiom grabbed a stick that was roasting by the fire and started eating its contents.
"Meat," he forced out through a mouth full. Some food particles flew out of his mouth flying into the fire. Amara frowned.
"Naih need to be taught some manners", she thought. "First, he doesn't offer me any and now he is talking with his mouth full. Wait......"
"Are you eating Biscuit," Amara called down reluctantly.
"Biscuits," he replied in confusion. "No, human I told you. It's meat."
"The Valty," Amara spat. He grumbled below shifting a bit.
"You can't eat a Valty," he spat back at her.
"Then, where did you find meat," she called down.
"Come down and I will tell you," he chuckled. Amara crossed her arms and leaned back against the tree. He shrugged. "More for me."
"Random forest animal," she pried.
"You could say that," he coolly stated before smirking.
"Bird," she questioned.
"No."
"Squirrel, rabbit, deer?"
"No, come down already," he growled.
"No!"
As T'ranthiom finished his stick of meat and shifted grabbing something behind him. He threw some fabric off to the side and then pulled the flesh onto a stick stabbing it back into the ground. Amara leaned to the other side of the tree to glance down at what he had thrown. It was a round leathery thing with small metal like dots throughout. It was a bracelet.
She sat up quickly and looked back at T'ranthiom in horror. He had grabbed another stick and started eating. The child within longed to consume some and it made Amara sick to her stomach. What was this monster inside of her that would eat another person, well, being?
"Meat," she screamed down. "Are you serious?! You are eating the Naih you killed earlier!"
"I'm hungry," he stated coolly as if cannibalism wasn't something frowned upon in most societies. "You can't eat the animals. They are all poisonous."
Amara leaned back against the tree. She shuddered at the injustice going on below her. How could he eat a fellow Naih? Yes, they attacked us in the forest determined to kill us, but does that mean they deserve to be eaten. He isn't any different than the Loggerheads we just escaped from! They lied to me! The Naih are nothing like humans. They are scum who consume each other as if they were nothing! Amara pressed her hands to her ears to eliminate the munching sound below. She wouldn't go with him. She decided she would rather die. The monster below her may look human, and an attractive one at that, but he terrified her. What was she going to do?
