A Nighttime Curiosity

                         Chapter 3
             Finding Out The Truth:
Sonic and Tails told Knuckles and Amy that they should maybe split up and look in different areas of the forest for Dark and Cream and they all agreed that they'd have a better chance of finding them if they all went in different directions. Amy headed north whilst Knuckles went east and Tails headed south then Sonic walked west. Meanwhile with Dark and Cream... "Oh I forgot to tell you my name, sorry I didn't tell you earlier my name's Cream." Said the young rabbit who was now more confident when talking to Dark who just observed her with curiosity and looked at her with kindness that could easily be seen even if he had eyes that were only all white and glowed sometimes. "Hey I just had a great idea, I could show you how to weave too if you wanna learn and I might've already learned you're name from watching you while I was stuck in Sonic's head, sorry I didn't say anything I was worried I'd be asked questions that if I answered wrong I'd be put back in there and not be able to come out..." Dark said feeling ashamed that he'd been watching Sonic and company from the back of the blue blur's mind. "Don't worry you were just being curious and there's nothing wrong with that at all." "Thanks Cream, I really appreciate how nice you've been to me even though you were worried at first." "Didn't you have a pet chao called Cheese?" "Oh, Cheese is at home helping mummy out with the chores." A while later whilst Dark and Cream were distracted talking to each other Amy spotted them from behind a large bush and carefully sneaked over for a closer look. Dark was so busy chatting with his friend that he didn't notice Amy's quiet footsteps
Heading towards them. Then out of nowhere Eggman showed up in his eggmobile and said menacingly "Spying on forms are we?" Dark then realized that Amy was watching him from somewhere behind the bushes but he didn't care about that, all he cared about was keeping them both safe from that rotten egg. Dark walked up to Amy whilst gently holding Cream in a protective manner. "Do I have to go back...?"
Asked Dark in sadness. "Well you don't have to if you don't want to, we were just worried about Cream being taken but after seeing you talking to her I realized maybe we should give you more of a chance for your own  life and freedom." Replied Amy who was just looking at how protective he was being with Cream. "We know you're very talented too." "How?"
Sonic found your hideout and found one of your creations there." Said Amy who showed Dark the small woven apple that he'd made earlier. Dark didn't say anything nor did he feel cross or upset he just looked at her and smiled. Then Eggman started rambling on again. "If you think that you can just ignore me think again you rodents." "Eggman, unless you wanna end up turned into an egg omelet I suggest you stay away from them." Said Dark who was now angry at Eggman for wanting to harm his friends. The black hedgehog then shot a blast of dark energy at the eggmobile which sent Eggman flying far into the distance. Once Eggman was gone Dark went back over to Amy and Cream to make sure they were ok. "What do you think of my work?" Asked Dark shyly. "It's really beautiful." "You really think so?" "I know so." "Well I guess it'd be ok to show the others how I spend my free time whenever I can." "Could you teach me how to weave too?" Asked Amy who then heard Sonic Tails and Knuckles heading towards them. "Please don't hide, we're all friends here." "Ok I promise I won't hide anymore." Dark then slowly walked up to Sonic. "Am I really allowed to be free and live my own life like Amy said before?" Asked Dark. "Yes, because you've showed us you're talented kind curious and caring, you deserve freedom instead of being locked up and lonely and I think my other forms might like a free life too." If only Tails could build a machine that could help us." "Hopefully one day we'll all be able to walk free without being judged or misunderstood." Said Dark. "We hope so too." Said Cream, Amy Knuckles, Tails and Sonic.
