Lola sat on her bed staring at her wedding picture, it had been nearly a year since her husband had been murdered and she missed him more then she ever thought possible. "God, I wish I could just hold you one more time." she whispered "just to have your arm around me, if I could just tell you how much I love you one more time..." there was a knock at the door.
"Lola? Lola open the door!" called Lola's best friend Nancy in her screechy high pitch Bronx accent.
"Cool it Nancy, I'll be right there!" she called back "God damn I forgot I had to run double shifts tonight. Lola ran out the door with her face plastered with make up coated with body glitter and fake eyelashes pushed into plaice, she hoped into Nancy's car and off the went, down to the speak easy where they worked as show girls. ever since her husband died Lola had to make a living for herself. she also tried to keep the 'my husband was murdered' topic on the low, and it don't look to great on a resume either, but it's not like the whole world didin't already know, when it fist happen her face was on every news paper cover for a month with a head line reading '22 year old Lola Thomas devastated and left penny less when her husband is cruelly murdered'
"Damn Oscar's gonna kill us!" Nancy announced as they ran into the speak easy.
"Where the hell have you been?" asked Oscar impatiently "You go on in five minutes!"
"Take a pill Oscar and calm down." said Lola as she ran to get changed "We'll be on stage."
