Perfect Imperfection

Her fear. Her biggest fear was to be laughed at. Her biggest fear was to be abandoned and stomped at again. Every day, she desperately tried her best to do it right. To be perfect. She hid everything with a sweet perfect smile. She was slowly rotting inside but no one could see. No one could hear. No one could understand. She was dying yet no one could notice.

Except him, The imperfect boy. He saw her pain. He fell in love with her pain. He fell in love with her beautiful attempt of rising up after falling. He fell in love with her desperate heart. He loved her.

He reached out to her. He reached out to her heart and made her feel like a human again. His touch were heavenly. His words were magical. She wanted to be heard and she found someone who could hear her.

But her fears wouldn't go away. She paced back and forth wondering why her fear wasn't going away. She took deep breaths, she wiped her tears but the fear wouldn't leave her. She was wrong. She was not right. Yet she couldn't take the right step. Her heart wouldn't let her.

She needed to be perfect. And he was imperfect. She needed perfection. But he was covered with flaws.  What if her fears became real? She tossed and turned. She thought and thought.

There were only two conclusions. To leave him and go back to where she started. Or be with him and live her fears. She was scared. She wanted the ground to swallow her whole. She wanted the world to end that very moment. But nothing happened.

She simply stared blankly as he waited for her decision.

He reached out his hand again. He gave her his smile that could make her feel thousands of emotions at once. She looked at his hand. His imperfect hand. And she glanced at her own hand. Her perfect hand.

A tear rolled down her perfect eyes for the first time in 7 years. She slowly closed her eyes and did what was meant to be done.

It didn't matter anyway...
