Okay, so the basic set up of the story is the girls aging. And each chapter will be about one girl for a few years, like this one is Camila 8-10 years old and ence will be Lauren and dinah and then they'll keep getting older until the age in which they meet and then there will be a steady story line. I just think its important to get a sense of why the girls are the way they are. So yeah, enjoy.-
Camila, ages 8-10
Admiralable. That's how eight year old Camila Hernandez-Hamilton would describe her two moms. In fact, Camila would agree that the two women are simply the best people in the entire world.
Camila isn't perfect, like all people, but she knows that in Normani and Ally’s eyes, she's the closest thing to that. And Camila loves the way they absolutely love her, plus being an only child meant all the attention and adoration. And like most kids, Camila soaked that all up. But the exuberant Cuban also had an everlasting appreciation, because she knows they took her in despite her not being biologically related to either of them. They took her in and gave her a home just when she was losing hope, and to Camila that was the greatest gift she could ever receive.
But still, like most kids she has a nack for getting herself in trouble.
“Karla Camila Hernandez-Hamilton, what did you do this time?” Normani groans, walking through the elementary school office doors. Camila smiles sheepishly, reverting her eyes to her folded hands in her lap.
The two mothers take a seat on either side of their daughter. Ally looks to her daughter in a upset, questioning, and disappointed look. In other words, the mom look. The one that makes Camila slide down her seat a little in guilt. Normani tugs on the girl's plaid button up that is thrown over her High School Musical shirt. Camila takes that as a signal to sit up.
“Thank you for coming in for your daughter, we appreciate it, even if it's under these circumstances. So, Camila, has been having some issues with another student, Austin Mahone. Camila, would you like tell your mothers what happened at the playground today?” the principal asks, moving her eyes to the younger girl. Camila squirms uncomfortably in her chair.
“Not really.” she mutters, letting out a squeak when Normani pinches her on her back. A pout flashes over her face and she knows she's only making the situation worse.
“Camila, now.” Ally says, leaving no room for argument. Camila cowers slightly at the tone of the woman's voice. While her mothers are her superheroes, man are they scary when they're mad.
“Okay so I was just you know, walking out with Shawn to the playground and then that boy-”
“-Austin” the principal corrects, Camila nods.
“So well me and Shawn were gonna play tetherball with some other kids and then I saw him being mean to this other girl, I'm not sure what her name is, but he was pushing her so then I pushed him. I was only standing up to a bully, isn't that what you guys taught us.” Camila leans forward with her eyes squinted Mrs.Wendell, the elementary school principal. Normani uses all her will to not laugh at her daughter's hilarious accusations. She instead pushes the Cuban's chest back. Camila makes a face and the action and Ally struggles not to make a comment.
“Well of course, Camila, but two wrongs don’t make a right. And remember, you did not just push him. What happened after?”
“Well I guess I punched him.” Camila mutters, looking everywhere but the direction of her mothers. Ally gasps and Normani stares at her little girl in bewilderment. They know the rascal likes trouble, but to punch somebody? They love their dear daughter, but Camila has the skinniest little chicken arms (or at least that's what the two women like to call them).
