As I peer out my window all I could do was admire the glorious sight in front of me. Nagareboshi Academy, a towering building that radiates the most overwhelming amount of hope that glazes over Japan. An elite academy that houses those who are considered "Humanity's Future", for they are the only ones who possess the ability to make the world a better place. As such, no one can just simply apply to the school as it would ruin the whole "Best of the best" kind of view the school tries to push on itself.

The entire nation looks up to those amidst its ranks for they are the true stars of hope. From constant news reports talking about the lives of the talented, to fan groups on forum websites allowing kids and adults alike to gossip and fangirl over their favorite people. Which might make you wonder as to what my purpose is. Well for starters, my name is Romen Gonsoku, nice to meet you! As for me I am a rather generic kind of a girl. I enjoy eating sweets and reading manga during my off time. I go on walks and hikes, and I like to listen to music when I'm trying to make time fly. But the most shocking thing about me, that still shocks me to this day, is the fact that I'm actually apart of the students affiliated with Nagareboshi.

They call us "Ultimates", it is a term coined by a group of fans that eventually managed to have it catch on. It is just a little title that we get for whatever reason we get scouted to the academy. For instance, if a really talented baseball player was scouted they would be deemed the Ultimate Baseball Player. Or perhaps a skilled hacker manages to get enough attention they could become the Ultimate Hacker. And for my case I would be considered the Ultimate Lawyer Prodigy.

The reason for that is because of the fact that I come from a long lineage of lawyers and prosecutors that fought within the legal system. Ever since I was a little kid I always watched my parents who worked as defense attorneys win nearly all of their cases and that inspired me to achieve the same greatness as them. Though it was really hard work I surprisingly mastered enough skill to catch the eye of the scouts and the rest was history. Of course I didn't do it alone, but now is not the time for that.

In fact, it's almost time for me to leave for class so I need to hurry and get ready. With that thought in mind I walked away from my window and began to take out clothing from my closet. Quickly changing into a puffy white dress shirt that I generally always cover with a thinner light blue dress which I keep together by tying a golden bow around the bottom. Next was the part that I always fear the most, attempting to tame the beast that is my bed head. Try as I must, it always seems that my blonde hair is too much for my little hairbrush to handle and so I just end up giving up. And as I left the bathroom I ignored the small glimpse of the horror that was my hair and moved on.

Grabbing my name tag off the dresser next to the door, I was about to carelessly walk out before I noticed the calendar I hung a while ago. A large red circle that I drew a while ago too was the thing that caught my attention the most. How naive am I to forget such an important day? I have been waiting almost six months for this special moment and it is now or never!

With a built up determination, I quickly rushed out of the door and down the long hallway that I need to take in order to reach an elevator. Pressing the circular button that was labelled with a one, the doors shut and I began to descend to my future. Anticipation and worry began to overtake my body for what was waiting on the first floor would decide my way of life forever. And surely enough the elevator finally reached the floor and I rushed out to the far back wall where a row of mailboxes were located.

No more wanting to dink around, I took a deep breathe and using the key I keep in my breast pocket, I turned the key to open the mailbox and... I turned it. I turned it. I turned.. it. I turn.. ed... it..? With my arm extended towards the mailbox it seems to have froze in place. Not just that, it seems that my entire body has stiffened with a numb sensation. All I can feel is my heart beating and brain pulsing. One beat, two beats, and one beat again. They continued to beat in a continuous pattern as my breathing patterns started to get heavier and my vision grew darker. I could feel my body both start to float as well as fall simultaneously into a dark abyss that engulfed my mind.
