"adore, she'll be here any minute! go upstairs and get dressed, now!" alaska hollered, one of two parents that had adopted adore some years back. they'd become a relatively close family, much like any other with the occasional battle of teen vs mom. it seemed another long winded argument was on its way — alaska and katya had invited a good friend over for dinner, much to adore's discontent. she let out a deep groan and crumpled the party sized bag of ruffles that sat atop her stomach."i don't want to meet your stupid friend! why should i have to get dressed up for some bitch i don't care about!"

alaska seethed with rage, beginning to obnoxiously show through the redness in her face. her wife katya stood witness against the kitchen door frame. "you know, she's kind of got a point. bianca probably won't take much notice." adore quickly pointed a digit at her favourite parent in complete approval, a small grin shaping her jaw. "well - your auntie is coming too, so go on upstairs, cut out the cursing and make yourself look presentable."

"this is BULLSHIT!" adore very happily yelled, pushing herself up onto her feet with a heavy sigh. she didn't understand why a red flannel shirt and denim shorts wasn't enough for this friend of theirs. was she the pope's wife? who the fuck was she? her aunt knew her well enough to know that fancy dress wasn't her thing, so jinkx being around wouldn't have mattered. but this bianca was the entire reason why she had to make an effort — and she hated her already.

she fled to her bedroom, trying to figure out a way to lock herself in and everyone else out. but with no lock on the door and no effort to barricade it either, it was hopeless. sneaking out of the window was always an option. though it meant having to slip passed the kitchen window where both her mom's were busy fixing tonight's dinner. there were no more options left. adore eyed her wardrobe as if it were her enemy, finally caving in to her parents expectations. she ventured through her wardrobe and didn't really find anything. at all. it was all the same. nothing formal, nothing fancy, nothing that would be approved of by alaska. and since she wouldn't be approved of ... why not go all out? she tore a distressed Selena shirt from its hanger, an already worn pair fishnets and red thigh highs boots sitting at the bottom of the closet. fuck it, right? just as she began to change she heard two voices turn into four. three of them familiar.

"adore, honey!" katya called from the bottom of the stairs, waiting on her arrival whilst initial greetings were made. jinkx, her auntie, was the one who brought along bianca tonight. adore grimaced, her eyes rolling hard enough to trigger a migraine. her booted feet stomped down every step, skinny arms flailing at her sides before they firmly crossed against their chest. she couldn't be making a more obvious job of showing she could not care less. still, she looked up to see a woman, just a few inches taller than her, with auburn hair and blue eyes. and speaking of, she could feel a pair burning into her. it was alaska's. fed up with her attitude and the way that she had dressed tonight.

"jinkxy!" the young one went from stone faced to euphoric as she jumped into the arms of her auntie. all the whilst knocking bianca out of the way. bianca didn't say much. the raise of her brow, tilt of her head and clearing of her throat was enough.

"hiya, sweetie," jinkx chuckled as she returned the hug, wrapping her hands around her shoulders to twist her into bianca's direction. "this is bianca. bianca, this is adore." b' didn't do so much to make an acquaintance, except run her eyes down adore's attire. she had a 'don't touch me', off putting aura and a face as stone cold as adore's. "mh, i know." the youngest one one said and smoothly pushed by her, their shoulders colliding for a brief and harsh moment.

"i am so sorry, she's never usually this much of a brat." alaska spat the pet name hard, glaring toward adore who went back to her latest position on the couch, a smug look on her face. "but really - she is." katya added in quickly to somewhat clear the air between the feud. it earned chuckles from everyone besides alaska, who smacked the back of her hand into her wife's chest. "i can see. there's no need to apologise." the newest addition to the household said with a warm smile that outwardly contrasted with an icy exterior. "laska and i are just going to see if we burned the food or not. fingers crossed, we can get takeout." a handful more friendly chuckles floated around the room before the couple left into the kitchen, alaska eyeing her daughter once more as she passed into the next room. adore rolled her eyes, anticipating they were going to ache by the end of the night.

"i'm just going to run to the bathroom, i trust you, adore. be nice!" jinkx pointed her index towards her before disappearing upstairs.

bianca didn't do so much as make a sound. she took a few solid steps toward the couch instead, the clicking of her tall heels filling the silence. she had pressed her shoulder up against the nearest wall, allowing her eyes to rest upon adore whom ignored it to the best of her abilities, especially after her aunt told her to play nice. she was almost prone to listening. although ... that was never going to happen. "what're you looking at?" adore snapped, her neck quickly craning to shoot daggers back at the woman. "that's what i'm trying to figure out. what am i looking at?"
