it's time for daily lessons. seok-hyeon was still sleeping. jin wasn't home to wake her up for her online lessons because he had to go to practice. she doesn't have an alarm clock, because why would she.
she's home schooled.

the sun was out by the time she felt like getting her lazy self up from bed. she went straight for the showers. every morning she wakes up with sweat on her forehead due to nightmares. jin wouldn't know about that.
he's never here.

she wanted to be normal so badly.
going to sleep and wake up and knowing her father was there. attend public school with her twin brother that belongs to another family. walking with friends and eating lunch together.

but all of those feelings she sang away. sometimes she would write little songs that would express her deepest desires. she's only a kid. and we all know from personal experience.

"no one listens to a kid"

three more years and she would be 10. she was smart. especially her musicality. she's heard of art schools, but she was always to afraid to ask her father. she already knew his answer.

he objected to anything that had to do with her leaving the house. she doesn't know the worry that her father carries with him everyday. leaving a child at home unprotected and all alone. fearing that she might be kidnapped at any minute builds even more stress and anxiety that practice.

coming home from tour or any live performances, and seeing her face knowing she was safe and unharmed . that's all he could ask for as a parent.
that is...if you can call him that. Most times he sees himself as a failure of a father. All he wants is the best for his daughter, but he can't even do that when he is barely even home most of the time.

once Seok-Hyeon was finished with her classes for the day she would scroll through a few different tv channels. She particularly enjoyed shows where a group would debut at the end. the more she watched each contestant on their journey form beginning to finish, the more inspired she would get to write.
she also picked up a few drawing skills-not to much, but enough for doodling whenever she was bored.
since she was home alone most of the time she taught herself how to cook. nothing to extravagant, just simple meals that she could make without making to much of a mess. Seok-Hyeon would always save a plate for her dad when she finished. She knew that he came home late so it wasn't that much of a bother to her.
Jin gave her one of his old phones so that she could contact him in case of emergency. the phone was not connected, but it worked with wifi so she could talk on Line(app).
she didn't have any friends, but Seo-Hyung would message her in school whenever he got the chance. She would also text her grandma (Jin's mom) or call to talk whenever she was lonely.
but the best time for Seok-Hyeon is when she puts her head phones one and starts listening to music.
she was never one for too girly or cheery songs. it wasn't the song or the artist(s) fault. songs with more lyrical depth always attracted her attention. she felt as if someone understood her and shared her pain. it made her happy even if it was only for a few minutes.

'ah this is too boring'
she thought. Sneaking out of the house was always on her mind, but if she did then she wouldn't be able to contact anyone on her phone.
'ugggggh. i hate this..'
she often wondered why her dad never let her stay at grandma's house and go to school.
it would have been a perfect scenario, but Jin didn't want to grow apart from her.
'i wonder if their is any way i can make friends, while i'm trapped in a never ending prison'
