“Caring about someone is one thing. Loving someone is a different thing! How many times do I have to tell you this Lizéa?! You don't love me. You care about me. But you don't love me!” His face started turning red with embarrassment and anger. And her face turned to sorrow. Her eyes watering, hoping that he was wrong. Not hoping. Knowing. She did love him. “Lizéa, you know I'm right. You don't love me.”

“How do you know that Jackson? How do you know that I don't love you? You do realize that I don't know what I'd do without you in my life right? You mean everything to me and—” he cut her off by kissing her. Their last kiss. He knew it was. And he could feel the tears streaming down her face. She doesn't love him. And he doesn't love her. And he knows this all. Yet she won't believe.

“You can't just say that. You just can't.” He started crying as well. Sobbing actually. He couldn't even stand now. He knees just collapsed. So he fell to the ground in the middle of the hallway.

“Then you can't just cut me off by kissing me when you know how I feel. And I can say whatever I want to say.” Tears started running down her face as she spoke. She doesn't want to be hurt. But she knows that he's going to hurt her. And he does too. They both know the can't stop the inevitable.

“Lizéa, I can't love you anymore. I just can't. I can't and won't put you through the pain of me not being enough for you. You show so much passion and care towards me. But you don't love me. You care about me, yes. But you don't love me.” He sobbed out the last three words then went silent. His sobs turned to silent tears. And her tears kept coming down her face as well. It was just silence in their little world.

“Jackson, I'm so sorry. Just for everything. I do deserve you. And you deserve me. I love you. I truly so. And I don't and won't ever regret us. I won't ever forget us and what we were together. And I do love you. You just can't admit it to yourself. You mean everything to me. You always will.”  She got down to his level, kissed him on the forehead and hugged him one last time. She meant every single word she said to him. And always will mean them. Then she got up and walked away from him. He could barely hear her heels as she walked further and further away from him and the corridor. That's the last thing he heard of her.

They never spoke again. And they probably never will. But they did and still do love each other. They have always looked for little parts of each other in the people they have been with. But nothing will and nothing can ever be the same as their love. Their love was everything and anything. Meaning something to one and something to another.

They just loved each other to the point where they thought they weren't in love.
