Eserah, circa 4122 ATA. (ATA= after the apocalypse)
It was early morning when the young boy woke up from his slumber. A four year old Yoongi slowly sat up and gently rubbed his eyes. He got up and rolled his bedding up before he placed it in the only cabinet in the room. He walked out into the common room. "Jinnie?" Yoongi called out for his older brother.
Yoongi sighed then walked back into his room and changed into a white shirt that was a couple sizes too big with some brown slacks. He ran in the kitchen and grabbed a peach before he ran out the front door.
He started to watch down the dirt road before he looked back at his home, a small hut that was a little further than the rest.
Yoongi walked the long dirt road, eating his peach. Yoongi watched as two boys came running towards him. Yoongi watched as they passed by him.
He furrowed his eyebrows. "Jinnie?" Yoongi asked as he stopped walking. The two boys stopped running and turned to him. "Oh! Hey Yoongi!" Seokjin said, his face flushed from running.
Yoongi looked at the other boy, whom was hiding behind Seokjin. "Whose that?" Yoongi asked as he pointed. Seokjin gently placed his younger brother's hand down and sighed. "He's just a friend."
Yoongi looked from his brother to the boy. "Is he Eserahin?" Yoongi asked. Seokjin looked at the boy with worry. Yoongi walked up to Namjoon. "Can I see your marking?" Yoongi asked.
Seokjin kneeled down in front of his baby brother. "Yoongi... Namjoonie isn't Eserahin. But he is my friend."
Yoongi tried to wiggle out of his brother's arms. "What are you doing with him?! They're bad! Mother said to never talk to or be around Ecrolynians! They're full of diseases!"
Seokjin gently grabbed Yoongi's face. "Do you really believe that brother? You're extremely intelligent for your age. I think you deserve the truth, I think you can handle it. Go talk with grandmother, she'll explain everything to you." Yoongi nodded and glanced at Namjoon one last time. "Yoongi, please don't tell anyone what you saw. For me?" Seokjin asked.
Yoongi nodded again before he threw the pit of the peach into the near by bushes. Seokjin ruffled Yoongi's hair lovingly as he smiled down at his little brother.
"Get to grandmother's safely. I'll come get you at sunset." Seokjin said before he grabbed Namjoon's arm and started to walk away. Yoongi watched his brother leave.
"Wait! Jin!" Seokjin stopped and turned to Yoongi. "Yes?" "Where are mother and father? Are they with grandmother?" Seokjin shook his head. "I believe they're in town, don't you remember what today is?" Seokjin asked. Yoongi shook his head.
Seokjin sighed. "It's Krinithra, the day they choose..." "Which boys go train for the army." Yoongi finished. Seokjin nodded. "They went to support, mother's sister... her sons are both thirteen now."
Yoongi shivered a bit. "I hope they don't choose me when I'm of age... or you." Yoongi said to his older brother. Seokjin smiled. "I have four years, let's not worry about it now." Yoongi nodded and smiled up at him.
Seokjin smiled back before he gestured towards the road. "Go on. I'm sure grandmother is waiting to see you. I bet she baked." Yoongi's eyes widened. "Bye Jinnie!!! Bye Namjoonie!!!" Yoongi said as he took off running.
Namjoon took Seokjin's hand as they headed the opposite way. "Are you sure we don't have to worry about your brother telling on us?" Seokjin nodded. "I'm positive. Come on, we need to hurry before your family worries." Seokjin said.
Yoongi stopped by the river to get the sticky peach juice off his hands and face. He froze as he heard a piercing scream from far away. It made the wind blow harshly for a moment.
