Agatha walked out of class. She was clutching her books so hard her knuckles were white. She lied to clutch things when she was nervous– which was often at school.

"Hey, freak!" An annoying female voice called to her.

A scrunched piece of paper flew at her head. It hit her cheek and landed on the floor. Agatha stared at it for a minute, listening to giggling right across from her. She bent down and picked it up.

Thinking if she should even look at what was written in it, she decided she should, so she unwrapped it.

With a thick red marker, was written the acronym 'KYS'. It covered the entire page.

Agatha sighed and yelled over to the thrower's direction "Geez real fucking mature of you Bertha!" She then tossed the piece of paper in the bin and walked down to the cafeteria.

"Hey, Agatha!" Another female voice called out. It was her bestie, Amelia.

Amelia and Agatha were friends since grade school. She used to be friends with Bertha, but when Bertha began to bully Agatha, Amelia stood up for her.

Bertha feared Amelia a little but didn't tend to show it. Amelia had a strong build and a very determined face. She was brave and always stood up for Agatha.

Amelia was waving from an empty table. Agatha smiled and waved back, walking towards her.

"Sooo? How was the presentation?! Did it go well?" Amelia asked, her big green eyes widening. Whenever she did that it always meant that she was either surprised, excited, or pissed. You could always tell though by her tone and facial expression.

"Oh yeah it went great if not counting the fact that I completely messed it up and the history teacher told me to present it again at lunch," Agatha replied sarcastically. She was always a very sarcastic person. She ran her fingers through her hair, which she always did when she was stressed.

"You're gonna leave me again? For like the fifth time?! Come on, dude." Amelia pouted, poking her fork into a carrot gloomily. Her curly brown hair cascaded over her face. Agatha was always amazed at how curly Amelia's hair was, and how it always looked flawless even on a very windy day.

"Sorry, I have to pass this assignment or I will fail the class!" Agatha exclaimed, plonking her head on the table.

"Alright... I let you off this time, but also guess who's birthday it is tomorrow...?" Amelia replied, smirking.

"Oooh, I wonder who, totally not me." Agatha groaned.

"Oh come on Agatha," Amelia said, nudging her.

But Agatha just sat up and sighed.

"I hate my birthday." Agatha finally said, after a minute of silence.

"So your parents died on your birthday. But that doesn't mean you can't celebrate it."

Amelia was always trying to make the situation positive, especially since Agatha was very much of a pessimist.

Amelia sighed and reached into her pocket, taking out a keychain.

"Here... I bought this for you and thought you might like it." Amelia mumbled and handed it to Agatha.

Agatha took the keychain and examined it. It was a keychain shaped like a hot dog, under the hot dog there was writing in black that said– "'I will shove anyone who hurts you up their ass' thanks, I like the picture of the hotdog." Agatha said, smirking.

"I knew you would like it!" Amelia screamed. She sounded very excited, and her eyes looked like they could fall out any minute.

"Why wouldn't I? You know how much I love... shoving hot dogs up people's asses..."

"That's the spirit! But I'm the one shoving the hot dogs up their ass not you." Amelia corrected.

"Oh lord... I just imagined that. Porn hub should sponsor you."

This joke caused Amelia to lightly punch Agatha in the shoulder.

"Hey! Don't abuse me!" Agatha joked.

Just as Amelia was about to say something, the announcement came on.

"Amelia Morgen, please come to the office immediately." The speaker broadcasted.

Agatha looked at Amelia. She raised one eyebrow and said, "What did you do now Amelia..."

"Oh... nothing, just beat some guy up for talking shit about you."

"Amelia Morgen, please come to the office immediately. Thank you." The announcement repeated.

"Ok ok! I'm coming! Patient much..." Amelia groaned and packed her bag.

She then ran off, yelling to Agatha "Take care Agatha! Don't overeat!"

Agatha sighed and began to eat her burrito.

The bell rang and Agatha, quickly finishing her burrito, ran to class.

~Time skip~

School ended. The history teacher gave Agatha a C+ for effort– which was a passing grade, so Agatha didn't really mind.

She was walking down the stairs when she heard a male voice call out "Hey wassup ma boi!"

The voice belonged to Tiren, Agatha's ex-crush and also her friend.

She watched as he patted his friend's back and waved him goodbye as his friend headed off to the bus.

"Hey!" Tiren called out, waving to her.

Agatha waved back, smiling. Tiren had very dark brown eyes, that reminded you of a puppy's.

"Urgh seriously? Did you think he would wave to you?" Agatha heard. It was Bertha.

Bertha was leaning against a wall behind Agatha, she was smirking at her, her icy blue eyes piercing right through her skin.

Suddenly Agatha felt an arm around her. The arm belonged to Tiren.

"Wussup Agatha," Tiren said, punching her shoulder.

"Feeling dead inside, you know, the usual," Agatha replied, smirking and punching his shoulder.

"Well, you're dead to us as well." Bertha interrupted, her smirk widening into an evil looking grin.

A few of her friends laughed at the joke. They always did. They were Bertha's puppets.

"Heyy Tiren, coming to my party tonight?" Bertha asked, flirtatiously scooting over to him.

"Oh Sorry, not tonight," Tiren replied, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

"Oh? Why not?" She asked, looking confused.

"I've decided to celebrate my best friend's birthday instead." Tiren shrugged, glancing over at Agatha.

"And who might that be? The annoying, loud ass Lucas?" Bertha scowled.

"Actually... it's this little buddy's birthday tomorrow... and we made plans to celebrate tonight." Tiren replied, rubbing Agatha's head.

"Actually Tiren... go ahead and have fun at her party tonight. My birthday is tomorrow anyway." Agatha interrupted, gently removing Tiren's arm from her shoulder.

"You sure about that? After all... we did plan this out for a whole week." Tiren asked. His bushy, brown eyebrows furrowed as he looked at Agatha. He looked worried, as he always did when Agatha said such things.

"It's fine. Go ahead." Agatha assured, faking a smile.

"Alrighty. But remember first thing in the morning I'll drive you to school." Tiren then gave her a pat on the shoulder.

"Got it!" Agatha smiled and watched her Tiren left with the girls. She then walked home, feeling even more down.
