A goddess.
Her long, wavy light brown hair waved as the air conditioning pumped on. In a way, we looked similar. But immediately I knew, I had a boner.
"Katy, this is Mae."
Mae. April showers bring Mae flowers. Bring... Mae.... flowers....
I ran over to bask in robins and ordered a floral cake, before running back into the gas station. I practically threw the cake at her, which was nice, before running away. She looked confused. Hurt even, but I couldn't face her after that. What if she hated me? Gosh.
It was another few days before I was able to face the gas station again. I was running short on fuel and decided to pop in. My mom wasn't working, so I wore a hood and glasses in order to cover my face. What if I saw her again? Could my heart take it? I took a deep breath, zipping my jacket up over my face before going in.
"Uh hey yeah $25 on pump 1 please." It was Mae. I tried to sound as manly as I could but I just couldn't do it.
"Thanks for the ice cream cake. Come with me."
I followed her into the bathroom and we made out for twenty minutes.
Sick.
