¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ivy stared at the time on her mobile phone.

3:34 am.

She was a bit nervous to go inside.

Michael would not be happy at all knowing she was home this late.

He became extremely irritable when things didn't follow his schedule.

She just stood on the front porch contemplating whether to go inside or wait till morning.

She took a deep breath and stuck the key into the lock.

'Please be asleep, please be asleep..."

Though, she knew he would be awake.

He's awake all hours of the night until sunrise.

But if she was lucky.....

The door opened with a loud, long squeal that made her curse under her breath.

She stepped inside and closed the door behind her as quietly as she could......

But, there comes an obnoxious screech from those rusty ol' hinges.

She looked around, it was very dark but she could make out a few things.

She took off her shoes and checked the living room and kitchen; nothing.

Then tried to silently tip-toe to the bathroom.

Just as she was about to enter the hallway......

"Ivy Jackson....." His deep, throaty voice boomed.

She jumped in surprise and held her heart.

She instantly dropped her shoes and bag hurriedly paced to where she heard him

'What? He wasn't there before.'

His eyes. The irises were a sizzling, florid red that instantaneously transferred Ivy into a trance-like state.

She walked towards him almost involuntarily.

She stopped short though, frozen in place by nervosity.

But suddenly, she was yanked forward and let out a surprised yelp.

Now standing between his legs, she could do nothing but look straight at his face.

She didn't dare utter a word.

"You're late...."

Ivy let out a silent sigh through slightly parted lips as her mind recalled the events of her day. Or well, yesterday.

"Now, why are you late, baby?"

Ivy chose to stay silent so Michael bugged.

"Go on..."

"I had to fill in for Richie, at work, he had to leave early to-"

He pressed one of his slender fingers to her lips cutting her short.

"I've heard enough"

"He's just a co-worker, Michael."

"I said I've heard enough."

Ivy was finally able to look away from him and her pupils quickly darted to the wooden floor beneath her feet.

Michael placed his hand on the back of her head and played with her hair.
