Dust

8 3 1

The world is crumbling,
The machines coated in rust,
The buildings, rumbling,
Make their message clear,
The world is breaking,
Turning into little more than dust.

We go on with our lives,
Sparing not a glance
To what was the past.
We carry on our daily routine,
Under the stars barely seen,
The world still turning to dust.

We dream of a better future.
What can we do but dream,
When we do nothing to make it reality?
As it is, we continue
To labour, to destroy,
And crush the world to dust.

It's falling apart, perhaps,
Like the falling London bridge,
Falling into oblivion,
And turning into nothing more than dust.
