(Νατμrε)

I followed my big  brother back to our hut, my feet sore and calloused from walking. We had gone out to get some stone and dirt to reinforce our dwelling, since it had almost crumpled last night from the harsh downpour of rain. Or at least, that's what my brother said.. I don't even know what most of those words mean! Brother always uses such big words to explain things, and It confuses me.. a lot.

I looked up at the sky, which was a very unpleasant shade of green. It was very hot outside today, and it was starting to hurt my skin.. But I continued to walk anyway, knowing that Pixus would become mad if I decided to stop. I ocasionally hopped over the large cracks in the hard, dry ground to entertain myself, trying to ignore the pain that I felt in my feet. But after a while, I became bored of that, and it ended up hurting my feet even more.

Pixus stared straight ahead as he walked, focus on following the trail we had made so we wouldn't get lost. I whimpered as I felt my stomach ache and groan, begging for water. Its been quite a while since we had stopped to have a drink, and I was starting to get very thirsty. I whimpered and waddled ahead of my brother before looking up at him as he stopped in his tracks. He looked down at me with his cold purple eyes, raising a brow, "What do you want?"

I shifted a bit in my spot, moving my head a bit so he could see my face, since the load of rocks I was carrying was blocking my view, "How long until we're back home, bubber? I'm thirsby.." I pouted, puckering my lower lip as my ears drooped, doing my best pouty face. But it didn't seem to phase Pixus, since all he did in response was grunt, "Not too long. Be patient. Also.. It's 'brother', and 'thirsty.' Not 'thirsby' and 'bubber.'" He then walked  around me and resumed following the trail, looking around for the marks that we had placed along the edges of the trail to indicate that we were on the right pathway.

I huffed before continuing to waddle along, deciding to obey his orders as I mumbled the words under my breath, trying to say them right. As we walked, I heard him whispering to himself, something he did often. Although I don't know why, it's almost like he's talking to someone else.. but they're invisible! I gasped quietly to myself, beginning to wonder if Pixus had an invisible friend. But before I could continue to ponder, I suddenly bumped into my brother's back, letting out a small squeak of surprise as I looked up.

My expression lit up as I felt a wave of relief wash over my body, seeing that we had finally arrived at our hut. I squealed and immediately waddled inside, grinning as I rushed over to my hole. I plopped the bunch of rocks down, immediately crawling into my hole as I curled up and purred, soon relaxing in the soft dirt. I don't know why, but I always loved to lay in the dirt, it always seemed to make me feel sleepy and relaxed, and I liked that..

I wiggled my sore little  feet, patting the sides of my hole with the bottoms of them as I sighed. Then a bit of dust was sprinkled onto my face as I sneezed, looking up to see my brother with his arms crossed, looking down at me.

"I'm going to go get us some water," He said quietly, "Don't leave the hut. If I find out that you left, you'll be punished." I nodded and frowned a bit, curling up more. I did not want to get punished again.. the last time I decided to leave, Pixus hit my bottom until it turned red! I couldn't even sit down in my hole because of how much it hurt.. I would certainly never disobey him again.

Pix then walked over to the other side of our small hut, picking up a little jar he had made out of.. oh, what was it called? I can't remember. But Pixus said he made it by mixing some dirt and water together, shaped it, and then left it out in the sun to dry. My brother is very smart when it comes to making huthold objects!.. I wish I was that smart. He then turned, holding the jar close to his chest as he walked out of our hut, leaving once again to go get us some water. But as he left, I noticed that his feet were even redder than mine.. I could even see that it was starting to crack, leaving small dribbles of a black substance behind him as he walked. Ouchie!

I was very worried for my brother. He often went out of his way to gather enough resources for us to survive. And for that, I love and appreciate him very much. One time, when I  became 4 years old, he even  got me two  jugs full of water! All for myself! But now that i'm 6, a big boy, I'm gonna start coming along with him to help! And I love to help my brother,  because sometimes, he needs to rest up and let his poor feetsies heal. Even big boys need to have a break, sometimes.

I sighed and shifted around in my hole, ocasionally turning and tossing around, growing border by the second. I was really lonely.. I wanted Pixus to hurry up and come back so I could play with him. I patted the dirt around me in a small pattern, letting out a soft sigh. I then paused as I heard a loud, unfamiliar sound that came from the area around my hands. I looked down slightly before gasping, seeing that something had come out of the dirt. It was.. strange looking, to say the least. The foreign object that had appeared was small and green, like the color of my eyes. It stuck outward out of the ground, and had other little.. hairs sticking out of it? No, not hairs..

My ears then perked up as the word came to my mind. Leaves.. they were called leaves. And the object.. It was.. It was called a plant. I smiled and leaned down, giggling a little as I patted the plant gently. It must've known I was feeling lonely, so It decided to pop up and keep me some company! But it didn't really.. do anything. I huffed and stared at the plant, disappointment slowly creeping onto my expression. What now?..
