I am fine.

A senatnce that most people would think is okay. And after spoken would be believed.
And that was their greatest mistake made.

Mydoria izuki is someone everyone loves. Kind, caring and smart. Always putting others before him.
Always 'fine'

The first person to see through that lie was his mother when he turned the age nine.

He'd been coming home with cuts, bruises and burned clothing since the age of four. At first he played it of as clumsiness but as time progressed it got worse.

She knew what was up on his ninth birthday when he came home in tears after school and just ran up to his room and locked the door.
His mother was concerned and didn't stop pounding on the door for ten minuets.

Getting concerned she used a trick she'd learnt from her husband and picklocked the door open. Only to find her son lying on the floor with bleeding arms.

She would not leave him alone for a week. The teachers were told about his mental state and they said they'd deal with the students.

But it only got worse. New found hurtful words were thrown at the small powerless greenette.
So he became quiet. Didn't speak unless spoken to by an adult. No one else.

He'd forgotten what friendship was like. He'd forgotten trust amongst anyone.
He only had his mum. She was his lifeline.

And she finaly understood.

'I'm fine' with the pain.

She never let him go a day without hearing 'I love you' at least once an hour when she wasn't sleeping.

She was his voice of endless love. A lifeline she'd let him cling onto until her body withers away.
------------

The next to find out was all might.

After the incodent with the greenette on the rooftop he felt guilty. And he couldn't place why? He'd said the only thing that would be sensible. The truth...

After the sludge villain attack, he found the greenette once again.

Being yelled at by a bunch of hero's for being reckless. But why? He was the only one who acted. He heard one of them speak to see if he was okay.
Insantley he spoke 'I'm fine' and jogged away. But that didn't stop me seeing the look of defeat on his face.
I was swarmed by reporters but managed to get away.
But what I saw this time shocked me, being yelled at by the boy he'd saved.
That drew his attention. Why was he being yelled at.

As soon as the ashened hair boy left he'd asked the boy to be his successor.
After a bit of convincing he finally said yes.
But the way he said it was IF somthing had put a real smile on his face. The way he looked, almost if he hadn't cried in a long time.

The next time he heard it was when he was training the boy and he'd fallen badly, but still stood up.

'I'm fine'

The words struck all might in the chest. He knew the boy was lying as they limped back to the beach after running.

'I'm fine with the pain,'

All might sighed. He let the boy lean on him as they got to the beach.
He called a taxi to pick them up. Knowing that if he didn't his pupil would push himself more and more.

It was a week when he saw young mido again, but he didn't mind. As long as he was feeling better.

So he asked. But the same words fell out of his mouth

'I'm fine'

He knew that he would protect his pupil till the day his powers left his body completely.

He was another lifeline that day. One he could go to for protection.
--------------

The next one's to find out were recovery girl and Aizawa sensi.

The first time they were struck with the words was when he'd broken his fingers. He'd used 100% and broken them badly.

Not knowing what way to go Aizawa had to direct him. To the medical bay. Practically a home to the old backbone of ua.

To say that she yelled at Aizawa for being reckless caught the shortey off guard was an understatement.
But what caught the old lady off was when he began to apologise for going to far with his powers.

Realising no matter what he wouldn't let Aizawa take the blame, she let him off with a warning.

Aizawa asked after he'd been healed if he was okay.

'I'm fine'

Those two words hit his memory like a bullet going through bone.
Shattering everything.
His eyes became understanding. He'd used that excuse to... He knew what the young kid meant.

'I'm fine with taking the blame'

He'd done that a lot in the past for his friends. They'd never stop getting in to trouble.

He felt as if he needed to understand more. So he simply said one sentence.

"talk to me if you need any help," and left.

He was a lifeline to talk openly to. He would listen when spoken to. Even if he'd look like he was asleep.

Recovery girl entered next. Asking if he felt better than before.

'I'm fine'

Aizawa used to make the same excuse to her. She wasn't happy and asked for a real awnser. But he replied the same.

She understood its meaning.

'I'm fine with the tiredness'

She'd be his backbone when hurt. She'd be there for a while. Until shed seen him enough.
But she knew that wouldn't stop him.
She was a lifeline that would keep him in Check.
--------

They all found out their own ways and all four of them gave him a sense of hope.

But something still felt of for all of them
And they'd find out soon. Sooner than they'd emagine.
