Return Home (Mermaid Swamp AU)

Prologue

Rin Yamazaki could remember that day like it was yesterday, the day her friends passed away. Yuka Kikuchi died from Rin's choice to lite the fireplace in her best freind's room. Yuuta Takahashi lost his mind when Yuka died and stabbed himself with a kitchen knife. The last person to die was Seitaro Wakasugi who had chased her with an axe which she dodged and when he fell through the floor the axe was in his stomach.

He refused to die that way and asked Rin to pull the axe out of him. He walked out to the swamp and jumped in, drowning despite Rin's efforts to save him. He left behind his wristwatch, this left Rin broken and lost to the world around her. The lost girl found her way to a hidden tunnel across the swamp from a map she had found during the group's stay. She came to a room with fishtanks and a mermaid inside one of the tanks, which scared Rin greatly.

The door to the room was locked out of nowhere which Rin pounded on, she wanted to leave this place. She screamed at the top of her lungs pleading, begging to let out. After a few days rin started to subcume to hunger pains, and created for meat. Finally she turned to the tanks smashed the glass and ate the mermaid's flesh after the body hit the dirt floor. The old man, who owned the manor and land, found Rin mumbling about meat and the mermaid. The old man helped Rin out of the underground place as he told her a story of a nun who ate the flesh of a mermaid that her village found and became immortal.

Run was left standing in the middle of the forest and screams out that she ate the mermaid's meat and she won't die, then ran off laughing. She knew that many things were hard to believe but here she was 200 years later still alive and looking anything to prove that her friends could be reborn. The watch Seitaro dropped was still in her right hand, Rin missed her friends especially Seitaro she loved him but never got a chance to say so. Suddenly three voices reached her ears Rin moved inside of a bush closer to the swamp so she could hear.

"Yuka slow down!" That sounded just like... Yuuta, Rin moved to see... it was Yuuta! Yuka running to the edge of the swamp, with Seitaro in the back with a book in hand.

Rin felt her heart stop, her friends... They were alive, after 200 years, they were back in her life. Her beloved Seitaro was here and well... Seitaro dropped his book and Yutta shoved him into the swamp and Rin jumped in after him.

As her body was wrapped in water her lags became a bright sky blue mermaid tail, making Rin fast enough to reach Seitaro. She pulled him above the water as Yuka and Yuuta pulled him out, Yuka looked back to see a sky blue fish tail disappear under the murky water. Rin's hair was tangled into a sloppy bun (pic up top) which was now a dark gold from the water wetting her hair.
