It had been two days since Kenny had heard from his boyfriend. He was starting to get worried. Kyle hadn’t been answering the blonde’s calls or texts. At first he thought he just needed the space.
“He hasn’t come out of the bedroom since you guys came back.” Stan said, looking at his converse while walking on the sidewalk with Kenny.
Kenny sighed.
“Did I do something to upset him?” Kenny asked, tears in his eyes.
“No, he’s just been through a lot ya know? Maybe give it one more day?” Stan insisted, Kenny nodded in agreement. They continued walking to their destination.
Craig and Tweek were holding hands, walking the opposite of Stan and Kenny.
“Damn, this really is a gay town.” Stan muttered under his breath.
“H-hey guys!” Tweek waved.
“Sup dude?” Kenny nodded. Stan smiled. And Craig just flipped them all off.
“H-how’s K-kyle doing?” Tweek inquired. Kenny frowned.
“He’s not answering my calls..” Kenny says softly.
“Maybe you pissed him off.” Craig said in his usual monotonous tone.
“C-craig shut up!” Tweek yelled at his much taller boyfriend, earning the middle finger from Craig. Tweek rolled his eyes and sighed.
“He’ didn’t do anything wrong Craig!” Stan said, defending Kenny. The tall blonde looked down at his shoes, biting his lip and holding in more tears.
Quiet sniffles were starting to form. The other three boys turned their attention to Kenny.
“S-see what h-happens when you're ins-insensitive? Tweek pointed at Kenny while yelling at Craig.
“Sorry man…” Craig said, scratching his neck and feeling guilty. Stan frowned.
“I'm sure Kyle has just been sleeping a lot.” Stan shrugged.
“You live with the dude!? How do you not know what he's doing??” Craig demanded to know.
“Well whenever I knock on the door, he either doesn't answer, or he just grunts...sometimes he says leave me alone...I've tried to enter the bedroom, but it's locked on his side.” Stan explained.
They all nodded and waved goodbye. Once again Craig and Tweek were walking the opposite of Stan and Kenny. Disappearing into the distance.
They finally decided to go back to Stans. Kenny walked upstairs only to find Kyle's door wide open. Kenny slowly walked inside to find it empty. There was a note on the desk in the corner. He grabbed it and his eyes slowly skimmed over the contents of the handwritten letter.
Dear friends,
I have had a great time with all of you. Stan you're my best friend, Tweek, you're a great friend, Craig, thank you for trying to save me, Wendy, Bebe, Clyde and Token, you've been great friends as well. Finally, Kenny, you have been my bestfriend and my boyfriend, I never would have in a million years thought you could ever love me. You showed me kindness and a love that I have never known. You are the most wonderful human being. Your laughter always brightened up my dark and gloomy days. You stood by me when no one else did. You drove to my prison to help save me. But...ever since then I've been wondering something...how could you ever continue loving someone whose been abused and used? I can no longer take the thought of losing you. Or knowing you probably think of me as a dirty Jew. So this is goodbye. I love you.
~Kyle.Tears dripped onto the page.
“Stan!” Kenny screamed out!
~~~~
Kyle looked over the bridge. The cold gusts of wind blew against his cheeks. Chilling him to the bone. The drop was huge. Big enough to kill him, and if the fall didn't, then the freezing river would. He gulped and put both feet up onto the edge. He closed his eyes. He moved his left foot off of the edge and before he knew it, he was falling. Falling to his death. He kept his eyes closed.
“Kyle!!!!!!” A familiar voice screamed. Kyle fell into the cold icy river below. His eyes noticed the tall skinny blonde up on the bridge. Bubbles formed from his nostrils. His arms outstretched, reaching for Kenny. He closed his eyes again. It was peaceful.
~~~~
Kyle felt four hands grab him, but his eyes felt so heavy. He couldn't force them open.
“Kyle! Answer me baby! Please!” Kenny held Kyle in his lap, crying. His tears landing on Kyle's already wet face. Stan stood by them crying.
Kenny put his head to Kyle's chest.
“He’s still breathing!!!”
The voices were muffled, his ears were ringing. But he slowly parted his eyelids and looked up. He coughed up water. Kenny and Stan looked down at him in shock.
“K-kenny?” Kyle choked out. He rested his hand on Kenny's crying cheek. The blonde pulled his boyfriend into the tightest hug imaginable. Kyle put his arms around his neck and hugged back.
“W-why did you save me?” Kyle weakly asked.
Kenny looked at him puzzled.
“Kyle...why the hell wouldn't I save you? I fucking love you!” Kenny said through tears.
“But...I'm used and filthy…” Kyle said, choking on his tears. Kenny shook his head in disagreement.
“You're my everything!!!” Kenny cried out. Still holding Kyle.
Finally it hit Kyle. No matter what happens, Kenny would always love him. The Jew wasn't use to such affection. Steven never gave him the time of day. He would only ever yell, but Kenny was different. He actually cared. Kyle looked at Stan. The raven haired boy knelt down so he could be eye level with his super best friend.
He was crying. SLAP.
His hand went across Kyle's face. Kenny sat there shocked. Kyle more so than his boyfriend.“DON’T YOU EVER FUCKING DO SOMETHING THAT CRAZY EVER AGAIN!!!! YOU SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME!!!” Stan cried out. Kyle smiled at his friends caring nature.
“Do you want me to bring you to the hospital?” Kenny asked, helping Kyle stand up.
“No...I've had enough of hospitals.” Kyle said. Kenny nodded.
Stan, Kyle and Kenny went back to Stan's place.
“You know Kyle...I was going to ask you...do you maybe...want to move in with me?” Kenny bit his lip anxiously, waiting for an answer. Kyle's eyes lit up.
“Yes!!” Kyle jumped up and down, or trying to, since he was still considerably weak from the fall.
“Now I can ask Wendy if she wants to live here!” Stan said happily. Kyle and Kenny chuckled. With that, Kyle could finally be happy again.
