Chapter 2 - I need to face reality

"What?" I look at the baby, apparently my son, as I was cradling it solemly, it was looking at me with it's shining light hazel eyes, and formed a smile. It was doing baby noise and he was pressing my nose, lightly sqeezing it, then it started to poke my cheek.

Billy looked surprised. "What?! Tito na ako?! Oh my god, pero, yeah right... Paano-"

Zia then handed Billy an envelope, and Billy opened the envelope, and inside was the kid's birth certificate, the DNA test, and pictures of him and Karylle, Zia, Coco and Tita Zsa.

As Billy was looking at it, I gave the baby for Zia to hold for a bit, and I looked at the birth certificate.

And so on and so.

But, it's impossible, how come I didn't notice that she was pregnant at that time? This was just 4 months ago... But...

Now everything seems to come together. Everything makes sense, all these years, she fooled me.

9 months ago, she kept on throwing up. She told me it was because she was always tired, na maraming stress dahil sa trabaho, kaya siya nahihilo. Tanga ko naman na I actually fell for it, though I did tell her to consult it to a doctor.

Then, she had a pack of pregnancy tests, and she said na para daw sa kaibigan niya na buntis.

(9 months ago flashback...)

"What are these preg tests for K? Don't tell me..."

"Ano ka ba Vice, syempre hinde, sa kaibigan ko to, emergency daw kaya nag alala ako bumili ako ng tests incase daw na confirmed."

"Pero, K, gusto mo ba mag ka anak? Like, magkaroon ng family?"

"A-no ka ba, syempre, bakit hinde? Mas cute nga yun oh, meron kang Junior, o meron kang Daddy's little girl..."

(End of flashback.)

She had them bandage wraps to I think cover up her bump and she was starting to wear baggy tops, trousers, long puffy dresses, but most of the time baggy ang suot. Nagtataka nga rin ako kung bakit sa mga meetings blazer at trousers ang ka tyerno niya palagi.

She was also gaining a lot of weight, weirdly craving a lot of things, especially Buko juice, pansit and hopia. On second thoughts I was starting to think na buntis talaga siya, but her excuse was always...

"I just feel like eating these things, I miss eating them."

"Yaan mo, nagpapataba lang ako dahil kasi underweight na ako at puro muscles na ako, daig ko pa ang bodybuilder."

Many more excuses na I fell for it. I was so dumb and I didn't go all suspicious on her kasi nga I trusted her so much.

Then, the 10 month leave in Paris, because of a business trip plus Dr.M's condition. Dr.M's condition was true, he had a stroke that time, but the business was not that much of the truth, and as soon as she arrived she looked very tired even though she had light makeup. Then, ever since she noticed me and George's closeness, she got jealous and we started to argue for weeks, until she got tired and left me, and annulment and her and Dong engaged.
