Leaving the lesson dracona Jacinta Abigail and Draculas cheaked their scheduals “weapons for us three what about you Draculas?” asked Abigail “weapons for me too mind if i walk with you” said draconas smiling knowing he had made his first friends since he started at the school “sure you can walk with us, so whats the reason the other fire house kids wont hang around with you?” asked dracona “because i’m muggle born they treat me like a house elf and refuse to be seen talking to me in public it makes it worse because i happen to be the only muggle born in my year” Draculas replied solemly noticing how sad he looked the group started walking to their next lesson.
Arriving at the door into the weapons class the 4 friends knocked on the door, suddenly the door opened reavealing professor deltarod wearing golden plated armour with a dragon carved into the chest plate and strapped to his back were 2 katanas with black and gold handles “hello welcome to weapons lesson please go and stand lined up against a wall” said professor deltarod sternly “yes sir” the 4 friends replied lining up against the wall dracona noticed that their where no tables or chairs in the room the room started filling with students quickly until 3 of the 4 walls where full with children all stood silently, after 2 minutes professor vlad walked in dressed in silver armour with a bat engraved into the chestplate at his waist was a silver shortsword with a gold plated handle that had 3 rubies encrusted into it. “welcome to another year of weapons this year you will all be taught how to make your own weapons once we test which swords you are best suited to the first half of the year will go towards training you with the blade you are suited too the second half you will craft your weapons using a special metal that only goblins and wizards know about” said professor deltarod “here with me is professor vlad he will be here to help you all and to help me demonstrate the correct uses of the different weapons like how to block with a katana or how to duel wield a short sword, now first i will demonstrate to you how short sword wielding and katana wielding are different” he said drawing his katanas whilst professor vlad drew his short sword.
After professor deltarod and professor vlad finished demonstrating the differences in the styles the students were told to pick a weapon off of the rack dracona and Draculas picked up katanas whilst Jacinta and Abigail picked up longswords after each and every student in the room had their chosen weapon they where split into pairs Abigail chose to pair up against Draculas and Jacinta paired up against dracona, “don’t worry Draculas i will take it easy on you as only have that little katana” Abigail teased “you sure you can handle something that big” Draculas teased back winking, professor vlad who was watching over their side of the room commanded “begin” suddenly the room filled with the sound of metal clashing into metal every now and then somebody would get their arm sliced and be sent to the medical unit after an hour half the class had been sent to the medical unit the other half had tired themselves out “well done to you that are left you have vastly improved since last year and dracona as its your first lesson i was very impressed you took to the katana well” professor deltarod said congratulating the remaining students “on another note a few of you did not handle your weapons so well so next lesson please try a different weapon if you didn’t feel you where comfortable with the weapon you chose today” professor vlad said his hair falling into his face covering his eyes he was smiling a toothy grin that revealed the length of his fangs once the two professors finished talking the students where sent away the rest of the day seemed to speed by as did the next 2 weeks.
The weather was getting worse and it was starting to snow dracona Jacinta Abigail and Draculas had become close friends spending all their free time together and grouping together in every lesson they shared “hey Draculas you coming to care of magical animals with us” Abigail shouted across the breakfast tables “yeah sure I’m going to head their now” he shouted back getting up he walked over to the air table and grabbed Abigail’s hand pulling her towards the door closely followed by dracona and Jacinta they walked down to the Forrest where care of magical animals was held they were met there by a short dumpy witch with big black boots and a dirty blue apron on “wow you 4 are always early i don’t know how you manage it well as we still have 10 minutes to wait why don’t you make a start today we will be studying dragons we have just had a new batch hatch out from a few very nice dragons my dragon is one of the ones they where bread from so why don’t you 4 go to the crate and pick a dragon out be carefull though they cant breath fire yet but they can still bite quite hard” professor gretch said giggling walking to the crates they found waiting 6 baby dragons they group finaly decided on an emerald colour dragon that had bright red eyes “i wonder what we should name him” Abigail asked “we shouldn’t name him in the books i’ve read it says once they chose a rider they choose their own names” dracona replied “yeah they can get quite tetchy if you name them apparently” Draculas said wanting to say his bit “ok well then i guess we should go grab him a lump of meat and see how he likes it” Jacinta said happily.
