As I gathered my suitcases walking out the tall unlighted buildings I turned around giving it one last look before I started my new life. This was a new gurney that I was NOT looking forwards to at all. I was leaving my old life for a new one even though I, myself, did not want to.

Before I could leave there was one thing that I just had to do. I walked to the back of the building seeing my only friend Lydia standing there sobbing.

My heart broke seeing her cry and it broke me even more that I was the reason to why she is crying. As she notices me watching her sob she opens her arms. I run up to her and tackle her to the ground.

"Allison," She cried out as she rested her head on my shoulder. Tears drowning us we got back up and started laughing as we saw how messed up our makeup looked. We stood there just looking at each other not knowing what to say or where to start.

"You know I'm gonna miss you right?" I questioned breaking the silence between us.

"I'm gonna miss your strawberry blonde hair being wiped in my face..." she laughed.

"...I'm gonna miss our late night discussion on how smart you are and how dumb I am-"

" you are not dumb Allison. You're smart, beautiful, strong and ambitious. That's why when you leave here your gonna have a great life," Lydia said. She  held her tears back and I held mine. She was right I am strong. I Allison Argent am strong and ambitious. I want to leave this place and start a new life but I want that new life to be with my best friend Lydia not a random guy who had just won me.

I wanted to start a new life with Lydia because she was there for me when no one else was. She's like the sister that I've never had and that now i realise how much I really need . She was my glue and now I'm never gonna see her again.

"I don't feel strong," I spoke out. There was a honk of a car.

"I think that's your ride," Lydia said pointing to a black limousine.

"Lydia I don't want to leave-"

"Allison you have to... I won't be here either," she looked down at her black converse. As a tear dropped from her eyes to the ground. I asked her what she was talking about.

"I um- I'm being sold as well," I was shocked. Like how did this happen? When did this happen? Why was this happening? I looked her straight in the eye with a disgusted look as I realised something. You could only be sold if you were to be with Adam!

"Lydia you told me your life was stable!" I shouted.

"I lied okay!" She screamed at me.

"What the hell, I don't understand!" I shook my head in disbelief.

"Allison when I was a kid my mom passed away and my dad had addiction to alcohol,"

" I know that!" I cried out.

"Yeah but what you don't know is that Adam said that if I pretended to be his girlfriend I got to have that stable life. Whenever you were out we would sleep together and do shit. I never meant to hurt you I swear-"

"How long?" I asked.

"The day we became family," my heart dropped to the ground. I felt the world shake beneath my feet.
