Chapter 3- Why me?

After I had sat in the stall for awhile I finally decided to head to class. A grabbed my bag from the floor and ran to my first class. After the teacher scolded me for being late I made my way to my seat in the back. "What took you so long?" Robin asked as I sank back into my seat. "Nothing...." I pulled out a notebook and began to write the notes that were written on the board.

The bell rang and everyone gathered their things and emptied out of the room. I followed Robin out of the room and to our lockers. "So, why were you late to class?" He asked while grabbing his books. "I told you it was nothing...." I grabbed my stuff and slammed my locker shut. "Whoa there, no need to be so hostile" He put his hands up in defense. "Whatever..." I walked ahead of him and to our next class.

The bell rang for lunch and everyone filed out of the room. "So, whats for lunch today?" Robin asked while we headed to the cafeteria. "Do you ever stop asking questions?" He laughed at my comment and threw his hand around my shoulder. "Nope! But personally," he got close to my ear and whispered, "My favorite lunch would be you..." I pushed him away and laughed. "Slow down, Lover Boy. I'm not on the menu" He fake pouted, then laughed with me. "Anyway, what did you bring for lunch?" I asked him while walking to our usual seats. "Hm, Nothing new. Just a ham sandwich, a banana, and a pudding" He shrugged his shoulders and opened his lunch box. "Sounds nice" I rest my chin in the palm of my hand as I rolled my single apple around the table. "Thats all you have?" He looked at me with worried eyes. "Don't act surprised, this is what I always eat." He sighed and handed me his sandwich. "Eat it, your lunch isn't healthy. Doesn't John give you anything for lunch?" He took out a spoon and started eating. "Nope, you know him, to busy to care." I grabbed the sandwich and ripped it in half. I ate one half of the sandwich and slid the other half in front of Robin.

  After we finished eating, we threw our trash away. "Want to come over to my place after school?" Robin asked as we walked into our last class. "Hm...I guess, I have nothing better to do" I shrugged my shoulders and slumped into my seat. The teacher walked in and started the lecture.

After school Robin and I went to his house. He unlocked the door and let me in. I walked up to his room and fell onto his bed. "I'm so tired..." I yawned and rolled over onto my side. "Wanna watch a movie?" He asked while pushing me over and sitting beside me. "Depends what movie..." He laughed and stood up, he went to his dvd shelf and looked through horror films. "Ah-ha!" He grabbed one and put the disk into the dvd player. He slipped his shoes off and jumped onto the bed. "Mine too" I put my feet by him and he slipped my shoes off and threw them onto the floor. The movie began and he put his arm under my head. Most people think we are a couple, but we are far from it, although I do...Kinda like him. But it's nothing to serious, definitely not serious enough to act on.

  After the movie finished I sat up and sighed. "Wanna stay the night?" Robin asked as he sat up beside me. "You know I can't" I stood up and put on my shoes. "I'll see you tomorrow" I said while opening up the door. "Wait!" He grabbed my wrist and I turned to look at him, "Yeah?" He shook his head and let go. "Never mind, I-I'll see you tomorrow" He walked me to the door and waved as I walked towards my house.

  I walked into the house and into the kitchen. I started to do my chores when the door swung open. "Kai!" John stomped into the kitchen and slapped me. I held my cheek and tried to hold back my tears. "Where were you? I didn't say you could go anywhere after school" He slapped me again and I let a few tears slip. "S-sorry, I was at a friends house, w-we were working on a project" He slapped me again and stomped out of the room. "You will NOT go anywhere after school unless I say you have permission. Do this again and you will be severely punished." He yelled and slammed his study's door. I sighed and walked to my room after finishing my chores. I walked into the bathroom and looked at my bruised cheeks. I grabbed the blade from the sink and made a few more cuts. I rewrapped my arms and walked into my room. My phone rang, I looked at the caller ID. Robin. I picked up the phone and put it to my ear. "Hello?"
"Hey"
"Why did you call? I just left your house a little while ago"
"I know its just, are you you sure you can't stay over?"
I looked the time and it read 11:37. John would be asleep by now, so as long as I was back before morning I should be fine.
"I guess I can, I'll be over in 10"
"Okay, see you soon"
He hung up the phone and I put on my pajamas. I grabbed my phone and charger and climbed out the window. I finally arrived at Robins house and I started throwing small rocks at his window. He soon opened it and threw down a rope latter.
 
   I climbed up and landed softly on the floor. "I'm going to get in so much trouble if he finds out" I sighed as I flung myself on to his bed. "I know, You didn't have to come...I don't want you to get into trouble" He laid down beside me and pulled me to him. "No its fine, I-I didn't really want to be there" He pulled away slightly and look at my face. He rubbed his thumb across my cheek. "Did he do this?" It almost came out as a growl, but he tried his best to sound gentle. I nodded slowly and the tears started falling.
"Why is this happening to me? What did I do? Out of all the people...
Why me?"
