The screams from the castle were loud. It was absolute chaos, the entire kingdom was in a frenzy. They were all screaming a sentence that sent Benjamin smiling.

"Prince Hardy is dead! Prince Hardy is dead!"

The people were obviously afraid and Benjamin wouldn't want to stay to find out what his father, the king, would do. He swiftly turned his heal and sent a finger towards the castle, leaving his cage behind. The meadow was cast in a deep blue as he felt the wildflowers that caressed his hands. Looking up he could see every star in the sky, the moon big and bright, shining upon him and giving him sight of the landscape.

In the distance he could spot the tops of the dark trees, they swayed slightly as the spirits of the wind blew upon them. The spirits became interested in him as soon as he left the castle, his hair flowing and wispy in their breath.

He stood still for a while and closed his eyes, taking in the nature that he's only seen from afar. His father never let him out of that god damn castle, he only snuck out to the kingdom twice because of one of the knights that visited him. Benjamin opened his eyes and frowned, breaking the promise that he wouldn't look back, and stared towards the knight's living quarters. He was going to miss Gwilym, his charm was going to be nonexistent in his adventure and Benjamin will miss that smile. He pinched himself and forced himself to look away.

"No looking back now Benjamin, you have a mission to do."

He shook his head and removed Gwilym from his mind, walking forward towards the dark trees. Benjamin clenched his sword out of nervousness and stared into the dark. He was always afraid of the dark, although he was grown it was always something he feared. His father would scold him and throw him into the dungeon whenever he showed that weakness.

"Your name is Hardy and you must live by that, or you will be left behind."

His father yelled inside his head. Ben growled and gripped his head.

"Get out, get out! Only forward! The past doesn't matter anymore!"

He sighed and continued walking, hearing the sounds of nature that he was so foreign to. The spirits began blowing too hard at him as he gripped his coat. Shivers ran down his spine as he walked faster, ignoring the warmth emitting from his home.

The trees loomed above Benjamin and he reached to grip his sword again, the cloth rubbing against his shaky hand. This is it. He smiled and let out a breathy laugh.

"This is it." He said aloud.

"This is it!" He yelled.

Laughing he let out a yell and reached his arms up, the spirits circling him and moving the trees along with them. The leaves and the grass let out a yell of triumph with him and the world seemed to celebrate. Looking back at the kingdom, everything seemed to stop moving, like the people had heard the world yelling. He turned to face them as he let out his loudest yell, his face scrunching up as he roared. He ran out of breath and the wind stopped. Grinning ear to ear, he waltzed into the forest, his hand no longer gripping the sword.
