"Qingqing, are you awake?" I called knocking on her door. I slowly opened her door and walked inside looking around, she wasn't lying in her bed. I walked farther into the room and sighed when I saw her asleep at her desk.
I walked up to her and poked her shoulder.
"Qingqing, wake up." I whispered. She let out a startled yelp and quickly sat up.
"Ah, Yanyan, I just had the weirdest dream." She mumbled. She reached over and picked up the picture of our parents that was sitting on her desk. She turned it over and read the note that our mother wrote on the back. She quickly wiped away her tears and turned to me.
"Yanyan, are you ready to go? We're leaving today." I smiled and looked at her.
"I'm ready." Together we both ready for the engagement party. I was in a floor-length puffy dress the middle was a dark purple color that faded in a light tan color near the bottom of the dress. My hair was a loose curls that cascaded down my back. I was put in light purple colored shoes and a rose pin was placed in the top of my hair.
"Ms., Li Qiang is here to see you." I turned around and let out a light sigh and plastered a smile on my face as he walked into the room.
"Ah, Yui Yan, you look beautiful." Li Qiang walked up to me and pressed a kiss on my cheek.
"Thank you Li Qiang, you look nice as well." I greeted him. He held out his arm to me.
"Are you ready to go?" He asked.
"Can I meet you out there? I have to go check on Qingqing." He smiled and nodded. He took another look at me before walking out of the room.
"Yanyan, there you are, quick, let's go!" She took my hand and together the two of us quietly began to sneak towards the gate.
"Qingqing, it's hard to walk in this dress." I whispered.
"You have to try, I've got extra clothes in my bag." I nodded and we reached the gate, but before we could open it, our grandfather yelled at us.
"Qingqing! Yu Yan, stop! Get back here!" He shouted at us.
"I'm sorry, Grandpa!" Qingqing quickly fiddled with the lock.
"You guys, bring them back here!" I grabbed her hand and together the two of us began to run. We dodged the people and the tables trying our best to not hit anything.
"Stop! Just be quiet and stay in those white suits!" Qingqing shouted at them. "Stop! Don't move."
"Grandpa, I'm sorry. I don't want to marry Lu Jingyang! And Yanyan doesn't want to marry Li Qiang!" Qingqing took my hand and the two of us began to back away from the group of men.
"You two, listen to me! You better stop!" Grandpa shouted after us. We stopped running and quickly hid, while the men ran past us. We ran again, them continuing to follow after us.
We stopped running when we ran into a man with a motorcycle.
"Mister, can you lend us your motorcycle? Thank you."
"Why should I?" The man asked.
"Don't ask me why. Just let me use it!"
"No!" Qingqing handed me her bag and kicked her leg up, nearly kicking the man in the face. He quickly jumped up and handed Qingqing the keys. We quickly jumped on the motorcycle and Qingqing tossed him something.
"Here. Those guys will pay you." She started the bike and began to drive away.
"Yanyan, we actually did it." Qingqing laughed. I laughed and let out an excited squeal. It's time to find out the truth of our parents, and this is the only way to do this.
