Because of the fact that there wasn't an established speed limit, it took around fifteen minutes to reach the outskirts of Battery City. That, and Party Poison was something of a crash queen.

Everyone hopped out of the car in record time, and Lola stood outside of the car, examining her surroundings. They were on the outskirts of Battery City, in the badlands, and everything looked pretty much like where she'd lived in Zone 6. She kicked at the ground with her worn out Doc Martens and smiled to herself a little.

Gerard leaned against the car, next to Lola and smiled. "I know, the difference is breathtaking." he said. Lola giggled a little and said, "It's like I'm in a completely different world." she mumbled, giving Gerard a small smile.

"Let's go!"  Fun Ghoul shouted.  Lola looked up to see him standing by the door of their small house, his facial expression upset, and his arms crossed. "We're wasting daylight!"  Gerard gave Lola a look, out of the corner of his eye.  "That's Frank for you," he grumbled, standing up and walking to the door.  Lola followed him, eager to see the inside of the house.

The house was a complete mess, but Lola didn't mind. Messes meant people, and Lola really needed to be around people.  The living room was stocked with mismatched furniture, all well-loved and well-worn.  A girl about the age of ten was lying on one of the couches, completely engrossed in a completely outdated iPad, and there were noises coming from the kitchen.  Lola couldn't help but smile; this felt more like home to her than the last place did.

Gerard proceeded to introduce Lola to Ray (Jet Star), Mikey (The Kobra Kid), Grace (Missile Kid), and  Agent Cherri Cola (no one knew this guy's real name).  He also invited Lola to stay for as long as she wanted, which no one minded, least of all Lola.

A few hours later, Gerard pulls Lola inside and onto the couch, where everyone else was waiting.  "You picked the best time to come." He gave Lola that smile, a smile that was definitely growing on her, even though he had weirdly-shaped teeth.  "It's movie night." he explained, before getting up and going to search through a box.  Lola smiled a little; the idea of 'movie night' sounded like fun.

At the mention of movie night, Frank and Cherri Cola ran into the living room and sat on either side of Lola.  "Christ, don't let Poison pick the movie." Frank groaned, rolling his eyes.  "You always pick the worst movies, dude."

Gerard turned to face Frank.  "Just 'cause it's not porn doesn't mean it's bad, Frank." he sighed, before placing an old-school VHS into the player.

"You're totally wrong, anything besides porn is shit." Cherri piped up, grinning over at Frank.  Lola actually laughed this time and settled into the couch.

"We're watching Labyrinth because it's the greatest movie ever." declared Gerard as he took a seat on the floor, near Frank.  "Also because you're in love with David Bowie and old shit."  Frank added, earning himself a high-five from Cherri, and a punch in the leg from Gerard.

Lola thought the movie was okay, aside from the David Bowie guy and Gerard's awful singing-along.  Lola decided that maybe she would have to pick the movie, and if not her, then someone other than Gerard.

Lola woke up before sunlight, not even remembering falling asleep the night before.  She examined her surroundings and panicked a little before remembering where she was.  She sat up and looked around again, while rubbing her neck a little.

Frank, Mikey, Gerard and Ray were sprawled on the floor or on a couch, while Cherri Cola and Grace were nowhere in sight.  Lola looked at the digital watch on her arm, which read 2:30 a.m. She stood up and stepped over the bodies, heading for the front door.

Lola stood there a few seconds before stepping outside, and silently closing the door behind her.  She sat on the dusty ground, leaned back onto her elbows, and stared up at the sky, which was just starting to turn a sickly orange color.  The early-morning air was cool and dry, something she hadn't felt in a while.

Lola hadn't realized she'd fallen asleep until someone shook her roughly.  Her eyes snapped open as she fell over into the sand.  "What the---?"  she squeaked, confused.  She pushed herself off of the ground and stared up into the face of Frank.

"What the hell man?" she whined, brushing sand off of her clothes.  "First off," he started, pulling her to her feet.  "That's the best way to get killed.  Second, Poison's making breakfast.  I wanted to warn you; I suggest you find another source of food."  Frank made a face before turning around and walking back inside.  Lola followed him in, not really caring what the food tasted like as long as someone else was taking care of it.
