Beyond The Woods

Chapter 1

"Avery, wake up". I woke up confused and startled. "It's time for school", my Mother said. I got out of my soft bed sheets and bolted downstairs, realizing it's 7:45. Oh no, I thought. I'm going to be late for school! I ate half of a pop tart, then sprinted as fast as I could to catch the bus.

As I got out, I saw a new face I had never seen before. She has white curly blonde hair, and...dirty clothes? Who wears dirty clothes to school? Who is she? I don't know why but something about her made me come closer to her. "Hi," I said. The girl turned around her white curly blonde hair bouncing on the back of her shoulders.

"Hello."

"Do you go here?" I asked.

"I'm new," she said.

"What's your name?" I asked curiously.

"Allison, what's yours?"

"Avery," I said

"Nice to meet you." The girl then ran off.

That was weird? Who ends a conversation with a "Nice to meet you." I had a feeling we were going to be great friends. Why? Because she's new, and I'm a loner. A loner is someone who doesn't have anyone to be around or someone who has no friends. Maybe my life will change for a little while.
