I slowly looked around the metal corridor. There seemed to be no one home. Well, technically this wasn't a home. More like a scary, seemingly abandoned governmental facility I had somehow wandered into. It reeked of sanitizer and heavy medical equipment. The smell seemed to almost burn holes in my nasal passages but I powered on. Why was I still going instead of following my "happened upon" entrance? Because I wasn't alone. And that was apparent. As I walked through the halls soft gurgling sounds bouced off every surface imginable. This palce was called Bio-tech Sector A 51. Not sure what any of that hoo ha nonsense means but It sounded serious. And I felt like I'd somehow opened a can of worms that I'd never be able to close. Not alone. It was all I could think. I stepped around a dimly lit corner. Every muscle in my body was tensed and ready. My heart was pumping. I stopped in place as I felt something wet drop on my head. I felt the odd liquid. It had a thick viscosity. Then the gurgling sound. I heard it right above me. I looked up and was face to face with Pure white eyes and dark black inky skins that looked like it was stretched over a wiry frame. The creature was skinny but had teeth that were razor sharp and longer than my finger. His claws were pitch black like it's body and were even longer than it's terrifying fangs. I froze as beast gurgled and twitched above me as if ready to pounce. My face went pale and my blood ran cold.
"I-I SWEAR! I TOLD YOU THAT STUFF DOESN'T WASH OUT!" I shouted angrily. The creature backed up a bit startled by my loud outburst. I was tired of him getting his nasty spit in my hair. It takes forever to wash out. But if it gets on your clothes, their donzo. I glared at him and he sputtered guiltily. I sighed.
"What are we gonna do with you Bob." I said smoothing my long (now mop-like) hair to the side. He looked down. Bob, an extra terrestrial that somehow made it into my basement. Upon meeting him I freaked. Until I found out he was injured and as scared as I was. Oddly enough I helped him and he grew on me. We've been together ever since. Some of you might as you do you keep a monster out crawling alien with you wherever you go? Well he's got camouflage capabilities. And he can project images into people's minds. It's gnarly. But we weren't here for Funtime. We were here to save, well, the WORLD. Cliche? Of course. However, apparently his planet if filled with bigger meaner versions of himself that are bent on conquest and Earth in in their crosshairs. So It was my job to help him find his ship to tell them that there was, in his words, SEMI intelligent life on this planet and to NOT engage. We crept around the halls slowly passing blood thirsty guards sending them images of empty hallways as we did. I began walking when I felt a tug on my shirt. He looked at me an cocked his head. I squinted. The words "IT'S TIME" flashed through my head all grainy like. I nodded. He then opened his mouth and a long blood red tongue slid out. Then out of the tongue came another tooth. Sharp and round, almost like a needle. We agreed upon this. If we were to face something bigger then ourselves then I'd have to "take it." He'd inject me with a fluid giving me advanced capabilities. Only for the fight. From the looks of it he knew what was ahead. The tongue slithered towards me slowly and quick as a flash plunged into my arm. I cringed before it slid back out. My eyes turned pitch black and my veins became blue. I fell on the floor. It felt like my heart was beating faster each second. Every sound in the room was magnified into a high frequency screeching shrill that was busting and beating at my eardrums. I began convulsing violently. Then in an instant it stopped. I struggled to get up and then I stabled myself. Apparently I was comparable. We walked to a large metal door that stood open. We could see the ship directly in front of us. But in between us and the ship was about eighty-nine armed guards. Bob looked at me as his fangs grew longer and spikes began to form out of his ink-like mass. I nodded at him as he nodded at me. We walked into the room as gunfire exploded. This was the final stand. We weren't phoning home. We were protecting it.
