Narrator POV

Luca held his Mates hand tenderly as he walked her into their office and led her to her chair. Chanel looked over at her mate as he took the seat next to her, he recollected her hand and placed a small kiss upon her knuckles.

"Take a seat." Luca sounded officially as he looked at the young man and the young woman before him. "Today is a big day for the both of you...and tomorrow will be an even bigger day."

Chanel nodded as she watched the two of them with pride.

"Today is your 21st birthday and while tonight we will all have fun celebrating your lives so far...we also must say farewell to your childhoods, as tomorrow you will both begin your next journey in life...taking on the mantle of Alpha and and Beta and assume all of the responsibility that comes with it." Luca said with mixed emotions.

"Of course this new journey will be exciting but it will also be trying..." Chanel put in. "You will both be in charge, you will both have people come to you for help, for leadership and guidance...Lucian will have it slightly easier as he stays here and governs his pack alongside his beautiful mate...But you my sweet Bella, you will have the harder road I'm afraid."

Bella looked up at her mother with worry. "What if I'm not ready for all of this."

Chanel shook her head now but smiled. "You have been born and raised for this role...you are more than ready."

"We know it's scary Bellissima ." Her father sounded, lovingly using his nickname for her. "But the best adventures are the ones most unexpected."

She looked to her twin now...she knew he would be feeling her worry, it was an interesting trait they shared as wolves along with the ability to speak to one another even when not in wolf form.

{I'll be right here if you need me sis}

She offered her brother a smile and nodded.

{It would be easier for me if I had a mate.}

He looked at his sister now, {maybe he's there?}

"I only hope." She sounded out loud.

"Only hope what sweetheart?" Chanel asked.

"Only hope I won't mess it up somehow."

"You know the pack, you were practically raised there every weekend and every single summer...the people know you, and the people are waiting for their Alpha Luna to come home finally." Luca smiled.

"I wish Poppa was here." Bella put in sadly as she remembered her grandfather fondly, he had Alpha'd the Short Hills pack for many many years, even doing so as a double amputee. He had an accident causing him to lose his legs in human form...but as a wolf he was able to grow them back...something to do with the healing factor and the bones and ligaments basically stretching and growing every time the wolves shift.

"I do too...because he would be so proud to see you taking on the role he wanted so badly for you." Chanel sounded happily, but a slight pang of sadness ran through her now.

"You are not only the first female of the Short Hills pack resigning as Alpha...But you are the daughter of some very very strong bloodlines...and the same goes for you to Lucian." Luca sounded. "I want you both to remember that when shit seems too hard, you are descendants of some of the greatest Alphas who ever lived and ruled...so you can handle anything."

"Now...enough with the heavy stuff." Chanel said smiling fully once again. "We've got a party to get to."

Together the family left and drove over to the rented club for the evening.
