I flapped my bold, golden wings, admiring the way they shimmered in the setting sun light as I glided across the pink and orange streaked sky. I closed my eyes and let the cool, dusk wind run along my naturally scorching hot scales.

You see I was a fire dragon, and in case your wondering, no, fire dragons are not common. The ice, crystal, and toxic ones are the commons. Golden dragons are rare. There for fire dragons are rare. it just kinda worked out like that.

I opened my eyes and tilted my wings a little, causing me to swirl in the sky. I laughed and did hoops as I continued to fly around. Something caught in my eye and I turned, frowning as I saw my family's cave not far ahead. Sure, it was my home, but it was also my prison. It was where all the responsibilities came in on me like walls.

I sighed and flew towards it, slight dread settling in. I landed with the tiniest sound of my smooth claws scraping against stone and folded my long, elegant, golden wings gingerly.

I climbed up on the rock that was placed in the cave off to the right and let out a short, high pitched roar, announcing my arrival. I yawned and sunk down, closing my eyes as I waited for sleep.

"Almeira Almeira!"

My eyes shot open at the tiny voice that called my name. I looked to where the large tunnel was that connected the other side of the cave where the noise had come from and raised an eyebrow at the excited looking small dragon that had burst through the tunnel and was now trotting over to me with an angry looking Ashtiana behind him.

Jhalo beamed up at me and I couldn't help but feel a bit better at his young, care-free self.

"Will you play with me?"

He asked with puppy dog eyes. I sighed.

"Jhalo!"

Ashtiana hissed as she tugged on her younger brother's small tail.

"No its okay Ashtaiana."

I said with a warm smile at Jhalo. He was the youngest dragon in the whole 'group' of dragons that lived with us. And by group I meant my parents and family friends. Apparently I was his 'number one hero' Jhalo was a toxic dragon, with an unnatural dark lavender colour of scales instead of the usual, stary, dark dark purple that almost all toxic dragons had.

Damono had had purple scales. Damono.......

"Hehe, let's go!"

Jhalo said with happiness, jerking me out of my thoughts. I followed him out the cave entrance and leaped into the air. I spun around to see Jhalo staring at me with moon like eyes that were filled with admiration. I giggled at his silliness.

"Com'on Jhalo."

He snapped out of his trance and stretched his wings as he readied himself to take off. He jumped into the sky and beat his wings with a determined look on his face. He was still so young.....was it safe for him to be flying? He didn't fly often.

I shot down automatically as he swayed a bit. I swerved around and under him as he continued to fly straight.

"Hey um, Jhalo? What if our game is for me to teach you to fly? Would you like that?"

I asked as I saw his wings begin to beat slower. He beamed down at me with a relieved expression. I chuckled.

"I'll take that as a yes then."

I carefully flew up beside him, making sure to be ready if he fell.

"Now, first things first, your over working yourself. Keep beating that frantically and you'll ware your wings out. Your not used to flying yet so its natural, but now you have me as a teacher, so you'll need to learn how to fly properly."
