After a quick laugh and the awkward moment of silence, Sol began working on the ropes confining my arms. I would never admit it to anybody, but the feeling of his hands on mine caused such a rush it made it difficult to keep my breathing in check. Once my hands were free of their bonds I groped around blindly to undo the knots of my blindfold. Blinking back the harsh light from the open window in the carriage, I hissed, the sound drowned out by the crunch of the wheels over the gravel. Taking a quick glance around the carriage I note that there is nothing in here but the ropes that once held me and an old shoe. Grumbling, I brought myself to a crouching position, poised to leap out the open window. As if knowing my intentions, Sol grabbed my arm and dragged me back "Esme! What are you thinking?". I turn to him, a snarl escaping my parted lips "Getting the hell out of here! What do you think you are doing?!" Sighing to himself he pointed to the window and said "Saving your life." Then he reached out to grab the old shoe, and I gave him an incredulous look. He merely let go of my arm and cocked back his own as if readying to throw the shoe like a javelin. Swiftly, I slid towards the wall of our transportation. Indeed, it was the smart move for as soon as I moved out of the way Sol through the shoe straight for the open window. Instincts taking over, I watched it soar...and then bounce back to the same spot on the floor that I saw it before. "How-what-that's-that's not possible!" Sol looked at me and said with a complete straight face "You said he had Wielders, now we have proof." I knew they existed, but...it was very rare to have someone born with "The Gift". I mean, anyone with power should be feared...and respected. How could a man like the King, a greedy bastard, a dumb greedy bastard for that fact, be in control of enough to preform feats like this? "We are about to find out." Realizing I had said that out loud, I went to question him but saw a glimpse of the outside world through that magical protective barrier. We had reached the capital, King's City.
