I woke up staring at the familiar roof of my own room.
What the hell?
I quickly leaped up and ran to the kitchen, in hurry to tell mom everything that I didn't notice the biggest surprise of my life sitting at my dining table, drinking some tea.
"Mom, mom last night there was a weird nutter trying to kidnap at the party, so we hailed a cab and told the driver to get there as fast as he could to Hadley's house but I don't know what happened next cause I passed out." I took a long breathe and that's when I saw him. Tall, muscular, a head of blonde hair and deep-sea eyes-It was Miles.
"Mom! Why did you bring him here?" I said disgusted, pointing but not daring to look at him. He chuckled softly but just loud enough for me to hear. I felt heat rising slowly to my face. No I will not allow this creep annoy me.
"Let's get going then?" He said humourlessly
"No! I will not go anywhere against my will with a random stranger off the streets."
"Woah, slow down, You'll give yourself a bloody heart attack. Might I add that you do not have a legal will until your eighteen." Miles pointed out quite factually
"How old are you then smartie pants?" I asked sarcastically
"one and nine makes nineteen" he proudly stated
"No honey one and nine are ten. Nice try though, maybe take math class again?" I snickered softly.
"Obviously you have misheard me? Or misunderstood. I am taking you wether you like it or not" he replied sternly. I started backing up but he came forward and lifted me up over his shoulder. There was nothing I could do but sink to the lowest level and squirm, scream, scratch and kick him, while mom was just standing there, looking hurt but strong.
"Mom!" I screamed helplessly, but she just looked away, waiting for the boy to take the screaming, thrashing girl away.
"Ow!" He yelled, as I was screaming in his ear, but kept moving.
"Put me down right now!" I yelled
"Look, when we get outside you'd better act civilised otherwise you will quite sufficiently pay."
I didn't care what other people think of me. As we stepped outside I made no indication that I was going to shut up. I continued kicking, screaming and scratching.
"Right I really didn't want to have to do this but you're waking up the neighbours. Gosh would you please SHUT UP?!" He shoved his hand over my mouth and muffled my screaming. His hand was asking for it, I leant forward and bit him, hard.
He gasped brining his hand away to show that I had given him a nice cut and quite possibly a bruise, but I kept screaming.
I think he gave up and let me scream and thrash, and wake the neighbourhood up.
"I won't forget this you know?" He said.
"I know" I said my words filled with terror and worry.

As I scrabbled out of the ute Miles came forward and grabbed my wrist. I understood why-he doesn't want me to run away. I followed him up a flight of steps to what looked like an apartment building very expensive looking too. It was white and looked to have about maybe thirty floors, each with a balcony overlooking the city in the distance.
"This is where we'll live" said Miles
"I'm sorry I don't understand we?"
"Yeah, usually it is used to say multiple people in a group including oneself. Maybe wanna take English class again honey."
I sigh, "yeah I know that bit sweet-cheeks, but why are we living together?" I ask, using his terms of endearment.
"Boss says. If I were in charge of this operation you'd live here by yourself, but oh no Boss is too kind for anyone to be lonely"
"Yeah well great lot of company you are. It must be because your so approachable. You know? Like a bed of nails. And plus, who is 'the boss?"
"No one really knows."

Great, I'm walking around with some lunatic who doesn't even know who his freaking boss is. Absolutely pathetic. Good work Ella.

I sighed long and hard trying to figure out what my life had become. First I was living with my mom, my father had died many years ago, I barely even knew the man, then it was summer holidays, then I went to that stupid party, then I met Miles. I think I can say he legitimately changed my life.

We walked up to the front desk and Miles asked for someone called Lucy. She came out and I tried to hide my giggle, Lucy was an old woman wearing pointy glasses, a blue tailored suit, a black necklace
and carried a blue handbag that matched her dress. She looked like that old cartoon character or at the very least a cougar. I felt very underdressed as I was only wearing a crumpled T-shirt and shorts, my mousey hair swinging loosely around my back and some yellow converse.
"Oh yeah be nasty all you want. This is what I decided to wear today"
At that moment, my vision blurred.
"She's going pale. I didn't mean to startle you, sorry. But really is my face really that scary?." Lucy exclaimed.
"Don't tell me you didn't find that funny though?" Miles weased barely able to breathe. I was staring at them both in disbelief. He found it funny? Then I realised, he was the egotistical, rude Miles that we were talking about, wasn't it? I'd had enough I couldn't process it all, spots started to appear in my vision and I involuntary closed my eyes.
