They were arguing on the phone again. This had become a regular occurrence, and each time she regrets not having broken things off before leaving. She tries to convince herself each time it was not her fault. He had tricked her again with his silver tongue. He had convinced her that he loved he so much that he didn't care about the distance that would soon separate them. Her eyes glazed over with his profession of loves and she believed his every word.
Everyday she could feel him becoming more and more distant. She had her doubts. After all it wouldn't be the first time.
She had warned him of what would happen should he ever betray her. She told him she would rather he inform he that his preferences had changed. He was after all her only source of comfort and her only friend. She needed him wether it be as a boyfriend or simply a friend.
She will forever remember the day her life was destroyed. How they had thoughtlessly called her simply for the fun of it. Not realising how much they would destroy her with just a few simple words. "You had your suspicions, and you were right". One sentence. That was all it took for her world to crumble. She was once more plunged into the darkness, and this time she knew no one would be able to bring her back into the light.
They thought they were doing the right thing, they wanted her to know the truth. But by doing so they showed her she had been right all along, there was no goodness left in the world.
