Liz's POV - Castle Benton"The promise of my father means nothing to me," Liz stated coldly while she looked outside the window.
She could see the storm caused the high grass to bend and bow in a steady rhythm.
"It means something to Benton," Grace said from behind her and it made Liz glance over her shoulder. "That man is insane," the woman muttered and it made Liz nod in agreement.
Her hands caressed her hard stomach and Liz blew her cheeks up.
"Grace, when?" She asked silently, eyes on her swollen belly which felt hard to the touch since two days.
The red head fell silent and sighed. "Soon. Don't worry. He hasn't forgotten you," she murmured and let her hand came to rest on top of Liz'.
Elizabeth her features hardened and she closed her eyes when a sharp pain went through her which made her bend over a bit.
Thunder was heard in the distance and lightning lit up the chamber.
She took a deep breath and hardly heard the concerned questions of Grace when Liz looked up again.
"Grace," she bit her bottom lip when the pain started to ebb away again.
She couldn't finish her sentence when Liz felt a warm liquid stream down her legs and heard it trickling onto the floor. Her friend looked down towards the ground and back up again.
Liz went pale when another stinging flash of pain went through her, her belly hardening and softening again. The painful moan that escaped her made Grace grab Liz by the shoulders.
"It's time, the baby's coming," Grace mumbled, but Liz shook her head.
"No, no," her voice panicked, "not yet! Declan's not here. I need him!"
Her voice went louder and louder while her heartbeat quickened to the panic attack that was building up inside her. As always, Grace kept calm and her grip on Elizabeth tightened a bit.
"You need to lie on the bed," she said, her voice strict while she tried to calm Liz down, "you don't need Declan nor anyone else. We can't stop the labour. I'll be here."
Liz puffed out her cheeks when another wave of contractions hit her without mercy.
"Is it supposed to go this fast?"
Grace shrugged and guided Liz to the bed.
"I don't know," she admitted, which didn't help to calm Liz' nerves. "I'll go send for the doctor."
Liz shook her head while laying down and her fingers reached for Emberly.
"No, no don't leave me," she begged, her breathing heavy. "Grace, if its a girl..."
